The bride-to-be is work- Preschoolers graduate with honors at PGHS By Kalyn Secretan The Pleasant Grove High School held their Preschool Graduation recently with 14 graduates wearing their graduation hat and receiving receiv-ing their certificate. It was a fun day for the pre-scholars to march into the media center with their pre-school teachers and participate par-ticipate in the graduation program with their parents, grandparents or others ready with their cameras to record the special moment. Leah Castagna is the advisor and she said the program has been around for a number of years but this was her first year and the high school students ran the program. They planned the lessons, the concepts and planned the graduation. The teacher thanked the parents for letting let-ting the high school students stu-dents learn from their children. chil-dren. Firefighters contain Camp Williams blaze By Justin Hill Utah Valley staff A fast-moving fire sparked by welding equipment equip-ment on Tuesday burned about 1,500 acres of brush at Camp Williams. Firefighters had the blaze fully contained by about 8 p.m., but some crews were expected to continue fighting hot spots with military personnel providing a fire watch overnight, said Salt Lake County Fire Department Capt. Jay Ziolkowski. Firefighters spent much of the night of July 8 fighting fight-ing the last front of the fire, which was sweeping southwest and heading west of Eagle Mountain after jumping a fire line, Ziolkowski said. The blaze never threatened threat-ened any structures, but flames were within two miles of a Saratoga Springs housing subdivision. subdivi-sion. Ziolkowski said. Despite the presence of a fire watch to make sure the welder's work didn't start a fire, the blaze rap- and two helicopters.
