The orchestra, conducted by Lois Stout, is composed of 66 advanced string players play-ers from area schools. Timpanogos Chamber Orchestra was chosen in a state-wide audition to play alongside members of the Utah Symphony in their annual Side-by-Side Concert. Younger area students, who comprise the Timpanogos Prep Orchestra conducted by Kathy Wilson, played for 30 minutes in the lobby of the concert hall prior to the main performance. perform-ance. The Side-by-Side Concert featured TCO, conducted by Lois Stout, performing Grieg's Holberg Suite; Hilary Coombs, who performed per-formed Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1; and Daniel Gledhill, performing the Finale movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3. During intermission, the stage was reset so that TCO students could sit with the Utah Symphony.
