The four pieces on display dis-play include: a gourd painted paint-ed by Jenni Christensen (value of $3,000 to $5,000), with a minimum bid of $400; an original watercolo'i' done by Wayne Kimball, starting at $200; an original oil painting of Anderson Park in Pleasant Grove painted by Carol Harding, starting at $200; and a framed print of Liz Lemon Swindle's "Joseph," starting at $250. Artwork and framing fram-ing were, donated by the artists. The Quick-Draw Show and Auction will begin at 7 p.m., June 8 at the library. Artists will be given a 45-. 45-. minute time limit to complete com-plete an original work of -art, ranging from pottery to paintings. The artwork will then be auctioned to the public. - All events are open to the public and free of charge. Refreshments will be served. All proceeds will be set aside for a new library. ' Artists participating in the Quick-Draw include Steve Bartholomew, Bruce Brainard, ' ' Larry Christensen, David Dean, Bill Heder, Batu Jagchid, John ' Jarvis, Peter jMyer,; Robert Oscarson, Doyle Shaw and Andy Watson. Passmore to present ballroom workshop, performance Last year's Miss Pleasant Grove Betsy Passmore is busily preparing for the Miss Utah Pageant, which will be held next month, June 13-16. As part of her service platform she will be presenting a dance program for senior citizens. Her theme is "Linking Generations." The BYU Ballroom Dance Team will perform at the Jacobs Senior Center next Tuesday June 5 at 6:30 p.m. After the performance, members of the dance team will mingle and dance with the members of the audience. Passmore is also planning a i Ballroom Workshop to raise money for Miss Utah Jami Palmer's cancer fund. There will be three classes held Monday June 4. The classes will be for different ge groups ranging from eight to adult. The cost is $10 per person before the day of the class and $12 at the door. The classes will be held at the Showtime Performing Arts Studio in downtown Pleasant Grove. To register, call 785-2582. Manic Depressive Assoc. The Manic Depressive Association of Utah Valley meets today and every Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Utah State Hospital administration adminis-tration building. The meeting is for those with mood disorders as well as their families and friends. Weekly meetings will feature speakers and a meeting of the local support group.
