American Fork IK Jaycees to Control City Float At 1970 Events A proposal from the American Fork Jaycees for construction, maintenance andtransporta-tion andtransporta-tion of the American fork City float for 1970 has been accepted by the Steel Days Committee and American Fork City Council. The Jaycees will receive approximately ap-proximately $995 for building the float, maintaining it in top condition con-dition throughout the parade season sea-son and transporting it to and from parade appearances this summer. T ie new Miss American Fork and her attendants will ride on the float, representing the city in numerous parades and public appearances throughout the year. Mr. Shelley received the award through the National Association of Biology Teachers. Mr. Shelley instructs the AP Biology Class, which has been Involved in advanced dissection and various field trips. These field trips included the UtaliState Training School, Utah State Prison, Pri-son, and dunes, American Fork Canyon and the Wastach Mountains. Moun-tains. During the summer Mr. Shelley is employed as- a supervisory park guide at Timpanogos Cave National Monument in American Fork Canyon. The summer biology program, which involves 20 to 25 sophomores sopho-mores and juniors is also instructed in-structed by Mr. Shelley in cooperation co-operation with biology instructor Carl Ingersoll. This program lasts through June with weeklong trips to parks, forests and desert des-ert lands. Mr. Shelley's hobbies include operating a ham radio, photography, photog-raphy, fishing, hunting and bricklaying.
