She said that a Junior Girl Scout Troop, 489, from Forbes School in American Fork and directed by Kathy Kenny comes over once a month to the center. A Brownie Troop, 312, led by Mary N. Johnson, also comes to the center. The girls have been assigned a grandparent who they visit each time they come. They also play recreation therapy games together. Barbara said that this is good for both the grandparents and for the girls. She noted that the girls develop a relationship with older people. It helps them to know the importance of older folks in the community. The program brings visitors to some of the residents who do not usually have visitors. The kids give love, Barbara added. The girls and the grandparents have done quilting together and the girls have brought gifts to the older folks.
