Students compete at Utah Tech i Over 350 Region 7 and 8 high school students visited the Orem Campus of Utah Technical College at Provo to compete in office education and accounting skills under the direction of Barbra Hoge, instructor at the college. Schools included in the competition- where American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Orem, Timpview, Mountain . View, Provo, Spanish Fork, Springville, Payson, Carbon and Uintah high schools. Two winners of Utah Technical College at : ProvoOrem scholarships scholar-ships were Lisa Snail of American Fork High School and Helen Charles of Springville High School. These two students were awarded full tuition scholarships for the 1984-85 school year and were selected from all first place winners in the various . senior classes. One prize per region was awarded. : Students were given 50 minute tests in the areas of shorthand, typewriting, office procedures and accounting. Following the testing periods, , faculty representatives participated in a luncheon and an awards presentation followed. &! citizen Seniors enjoy howling & golf The American Fork Senior Citizens bowl on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. at the Jack and Jill Lanes. High bowlers for April, were Don Overly, 268; Ual Marshall, Mar-shall, 236; Jerry Bird, 249; Bill Wright, 226; Roy Gammon, 220; Si Bell, 219; Lowell Brown, 217 Kal King, 217; Bill King, 217; Square Clark, 215; Ger Hermsen, 213; Lige Chipman, 214; Leon Parduhn, 209; Bob Brickerstaff, 206; Allen Barnes, 202. Both the bowling and the golf is for men and women. Golfing is held at the Tri-City Course anytime Monday thru Friday for $3 for nine holes. A 12-month pass is available for $100 with no limit to the number of holes played. The Seniors play chess every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Senior Center. Come out and join your friends and neighbors for these fun activities. Seniors menu for the coming week The Mother's Day meal and program this past Friday was very well attended and successful. Approximately Ap-proximately 150 Seniors took advantage ad-vantage of the day. Paul Mortensen brought a group of singers from the American Fork Junior High School who sang several appropriate musical numbers. Ten flowering plants were presented to mothers who held the lucky tickets on the drawing and the men served all the ladies for Mother's Day. On Friday of this week the meal will be breaded pork, whipped potatoes and gravy, carrot coins, white roll and butter, applesauce cake, milk or coffee. Monday, May 16 - grilled sausage patty with milk gravy, whipped potatoes, mixed vegetables, ranch roll with butter, chocolate brownie, milk or coffee. ' Tuesday, May 17 -. sirloin tips over buttered rice, carrot coins, hard roll, fresh apple, tapioca pudding, milk or coffee. : Wednesday, May 18 - baked ham, whipped potatoes and gravy, but-i but-i tered peas, whole wheat roll, cherry - gelatin, peanut butter cookies, milk - or coffee. ' Thursday, May 19 - macaroni and cheese, buttered green beans, hot roll and butter, chilled peaches, sugar cookies, milk or coffee. Friday, May 20 - baked chicken, whipped potatoes and gravy, steamed broccoli, bread, chocolate cake, milk or coffee. Come out each day and enjoy a delicious meal for only $1 per person. . - .
