Being shown for a limited time, the film chronicles the major events of the settling of the western frontier from the early to late 1800s. r ' , . X . ... "X Directed by Reed Smoot, the Utah Productions film was produced by Scott Swofford and edited by Glenn Fan. The film features a screenplay by Richard Parkinson and music composed com-posed and conducted by Kurt Bestor an Orem High Graduate. Michael McDonough served as the sound designer, Roger Crandall as art director, and Gary Summers as the re-record-ing mixer. . The Zion Canyon Theatre boasts one of the largest screens in the world, 60 feet high and 82 feet wide, the largest and only one of its kind in Utah. Known as the large format film experience, the ' XX XX X .. X y JX8ISICERSM giant screen and sophisticated surround sound give the viewer the impression of sharing in the action on screen. Using the stories and words from diaries and letters of real historic figures, the film shows not only the astonishingly beautiful territory, but also the true and often heart-wrenching stories of those who risked everything to explore and settle it.
