Show -Wednesday, February 8. 1984 18 Orem-Geneva Times- Council Approves Plan For 38-Unit Development A preliminary site plan was approved ap-proved without opposition at City Council Tuesday night for the Strat-ton Strat-ton 38-unit planned residential development at 750 North 750 East. The proposed units will be two stories with Victorian architecture and will be attached in groups of three, four, or more. Construction of the units will begin when 70 percent legitimate sales are assured, said Frank Stratton, representative of the family development group. In addition to bonding re-quirements re-quirements for improvements, and amenities, the council asked that not over 50 percent of the development be devoted to the smallest unit available and that all fruit trees not properly cared for be removed. Units will be approximately 1300 square feet finished to 1820 square feet finished including both floors and a partially finished area of the full basement. Cost will begin at $70,000. The proposed pro-posed changes include the construction construc-tion of a greenhouse bubble on the northwest corner of the existing building and relocating the sidewalk around the hobble. City Council authorized expenditure expen-diture of $14,050 to modify the air circulation cir-culation and ventilation system at the swimming pool enclosure at Orem City Recreation Center. Problems stemming from the high humidity in the enclosure necessitated the services of a mechanical engineer to study the conditions con-ditions and make recommendations. The bid for modifications was let to Creer Sheet Metal Works, Inc. Hamilton Electric was awarded a bid of $30,176.57 for the construction of traffic control light at 800 East Center Street. Orem City will purchase pur-chase materials for the fight equipment equip-ment from the UtahDepartment of Transporation for a cost of $16,804. U.D.O.T is the sole sources of materials and purchasing the materials from them will be a savings to Orem City, officials said. The control box proposed will be set up for an eventual four lane highway. The traffic light at present will be traffic actuated with four semaphores.
