V The ballet, long considered the ' greatest work to emerge from the : Romatic era, has been restaged for v its February opening by Louis God-Ifrey, God-Ifrey, ballet master and Denise Schultze, ballet mistress, who staged Ballet West's acclaimed production of Swan Lake. Giselle was last performed by Ballet West in ,1980. . According to Godfrey and i Schultze, Ballet West's new produc-tion produc-tion will provide audiences an opportunity oppor-tunity to see Giselle as it was originally conceived. Schultze and Godfrey learned the ballet from ' John Hart, assistant director of the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden in I London where the work was moun-; moun-; ted by Nikolais Sergeyev in 1941. '., That version of the ballet was based on the original St. Petersburg staging of Giselle by the Imperial Ballet. It is about the peasant girl Giselle who falls in love with Albrecht, a prince who is living in her village disguised as a peasant. Ballet West's premiere of the restaged Giselle will see the addition of new sets by designer Peter Cazalet, who designed the sets for Swan Lake. Costumes are those created and designed by David Heuvel. Varujan Kojian, special guest conductor for Ballet West will conduit the Utah Symphony. V City Streamlines Development Plan Processing Review Time A public hearing at City Council meeting last Tuesday gained approval ap-proval of an ordinance amendment to streamline the city's current Development Develop-ment Review Processes. Under the new ordinance developers will be required to submit construction drawings along with the final plat. "This should speed up the review process by one to two weeks over what it is now," said Jack Jones, Public Works Director.
