Show irl Scouts Honor Mothers at Dinner Saturday afternoon at the Or em 7th Ward Cultural Hall twenty-twc girl scouts from Junior Troop 22 under the leadership of Beth vans honored their mothers with an outstanding dinner. Tables were beautifully decorated with baskets of lilacs, streamers of , the girl scout colors green and gold, and had place cards of min-ature min-ature girl scout hats. Opal Gillispie, assistant leader, lead-er, directed the following girls with physical arrangements: set-ting set-ting up; Ann Gillispie, Lorie Hudson, Angela Marcus, Julie Heib, Stephanie Tate, Pamela Jeppson, Debbie Curtis; clean up: Elizabeth Tate, Cathy McRae, Kathy Bacus and Conna Heaplar. Virginia Washburn, troop committee com-mittee chairman, headed the decorating dec-orating committee: Travis Wash-; burn, Tammy Evans, Tina Chris-tensen, Chris-tensen, Mona Urie. Cooking and serving was directed by Gloria Phillips, assistant leader, with help from Peggy Phillips, Golda Adams, Kathy Noakes.SheMa Patterson, Pat-terson, Terri Lynne Gillespie and Mary Ann Bills. Cheryl Hollbman, senior girl scout, directed the girls in a Scouts Own. During 'this time appreciation was expressed for "Mother and it was shown that if a girl lived by the scout laws she would always make her Mother Moth-er proud of her. Special guests attending, were Arlene Dart, Day Camp committee com-mittee chairman; Belva Jones, troop organizer; Delia Clark, public relations; and Kate Manz, camp director from the Utah Girl Scout Council. All mothers and guests received receiv-ed key chain braclets made by the troop. A special tribute and gifts were presented to Mrs. Beth Evans, troop leader, and Cheryl Holloman, senior leader. Hawaiian Trip Recalled for Club Mrs. Wilford Oveson recently returned from a two-weekstayin the Hawaiin Islands on the Island of Oahu. While there she visited with her daughter Bette who is attending the Church College of Hawaii and her son Robert Tip-petts Tip-petts and his family. Mr. Tip-pits Tip-pits is teaching English at the college. His wife is the former Beth Howells of Orem. Highlights of the trip were recalled re-called for members of the. OF Club at their recent meeting. Mrs. Oveson wore an orange and blue muu muu with an orange lei as she showed colored photos and described her adventure. She arrived on the islands the same day as President Johnson and she and Bette enjoyed watching watch-ing his entourage from a hotel window on Waikaiki Beach. Mrs. Oveson said the president rode in a long black automobile and all they could see of him was his hand waving. A special event of the trip was seeing the spring dance pro duction of the college, "And God Said Let There be Light', in which Bette performed the opening open-ing number. They visited the Hawaiian LDS Temple. Mr. Charlier is also a student at CSU and is affiliated withSigma Pi Fraternity. Cordial Club Hosts Mothers The annual Mother's Day Luncheon of the Cordial Club was held recently at the Riverside Country Club. Mrs. Fred Baird, president, welcomed members and guests at the door. Women's Group Installs Officers at Annual Breakfast The annual Strawberry Breakfast Break-fast of the Women's Fellowship Orem Community Church, was held at the Childress Memorial Building on Tuesday, May 21. Mrs. Howard Baggett was in charge. A delicious breakfast was served serv-ed to 18 women and Dr. Benton S. Gaskell, minister. Following the breakfast Mrs. John Sloan was presented with a gift in appreciation ap-preciation of her services as president during the 1967-68 year, The women then adjourned to the Sanctuary for a meditation by Dr. Gaskell and installation of officers. Mrs. Sloan installed the following fol-lowing officers: President-Mrs. Truman McBride, First Vice President-Mrs. James Hollands-worth, Hollands-worth, Second Vice President- Mrs. John Sloan, Secretary-Mrs. jack Nyman, Kenneth Hall.
