We are, it might appear, a people dedicated to fulfilling our personal whims at the expense of any who stand in our way. It only appears that way. In ruth, we are a nation of people who care about others. And nowhere no-where is this concern for others more evident than in the nation's na-tion's more than 7,000 hospitals. ' ' Within these hospital walls is an army of dedicated men, women and teenagers working in concert toward a common goal the provision pro-vision of the highest quality patient care. The patient seldom sees the majority of the hospital people, but they are -there in force. Hospitals now employ more than two million persons, and hospital-based occupations are among the fastest growing in the ' nation. The people who fill these occupations come from every walk of life and from varying educational backgrounds. High school graduates, through on-the-job training, fill such jobs as nursing aide, electrocardiograph electrocardio-graph technician, food service supervisor, dietary aide, laboratory labora-tory technician, psychiatric aide, or surgical technical aide. Professional Pro-fessional nurses complete at least three years of education and training beyond high school in preparation for their work. College graduates pursue careers in hospital engineering, purchasing, public relations, or personnel Persons with postgraduate post-graduate training work as occupational oc-cupational therapists, physical therapists, medical social work-ers, work-ers, hospital administrators, health science librarians, or speech pathologists. mm 5 -PL -TV WITH PITRrWASF OF li 2-LAYER 8-INCH CAK z t .1":?
