One hundred percent of the mountain is open and all of the trails are dry. Don't forget for-get to bring extra sunscreen with you, a lightweight jacket and lots of water. For those looking for an easier hde try Sultan Road which is a dirt road that goes to the bottom of Mayflower lift and back. Or if you are looking for a more thrilling nde try Twist and Shout, a steep and twisting single track through the aspens. For more information call Deer Valley Resort at 435-649-1000. The Canyons' Beginning, intermediate and expert hiking trails are available. Be sure to bnng sunscreen, shell jacket and plenty of water for your hike. Please be aware that sheep are grazing on the mountain and should not be approached or disturbed. All of our trails are open and dry with some dusty conditions. con-ditions. Hiking at The Canyons is accessed by a scenic gondola nde to mid-mountain. mid-mountain. Trail maps and passes will be available at the Summer Activities center cen-ter located in the forum area. Please call 435-649-5400 for more information. State Farks Rockport Reservoir - Fishing is reported to be very good. Please remember the new 4-fish limit. The water temperature is around 70 degrees Because of the low water levels. Rockport rangers are enforcing boat limits and have been turning boaters away from noon to 3 p.m. Dunng the weekends the campgrounds camp-grounds have been completely booked To make a reservation for an upcoming date call 1-800-322-3770. Jordanelle - The water temperature at the reservoir has been 60 to 62 degrees. Fishing is reported to be good from boats but poor from the shoreline. The Hailstone Campground is full most weekends but there are some camping spots available at Rock Cliff. Mountain Trails I oundation Rain, glonous ram! The trails have ben extremely dry and dusty, so the recent rams are quite welcome The dry conditions are a good reminder that we need to take care ol our trails by avoiding muddy sections, and keeping skidding and other erosion-causing activity to a minimum. The hiking trails are open at The Canyons. Take a gondola nde to Red Pine Lodge, pick up a trail map and enjoy the scenery. The 4th annual Habitn will take place this Saturday at Jonjanelle Reservoir. In addition to the tnathlon, there is also a duathton option. Remember that trail maps are available at all the bike shops, most lodging providers, the Visitor s Center, and the Museum on Mam Street. Wasatch-Cache National Forest All campgrounds on the Kamas Ranger Distnct are now open. Reservations may be made through ReserveUSA at 877-444-6777 or www ReserveUSA com. Many of the unimproved (dispersed) campsites are also available for use along the Mirror Lake Hwy. and in the surrounding areas However, campfires are not allowed in these areas and visitors must use a stove for all cooking Aii trails and trailheads along the Mirror Lake Hwy are accessible as of this time All lakes are accessib'e and fishing is reported to be good at Tnal and Mirror Lakes. Streams and Lakes - All lakes are aixessibie and fishing is supposedly good at Pass and Butterfly Lakes. Check the Utah Fishing Proclamation tor bait restrictions and limits.
