She is playful, pretty, and would love a new home. The shelter is also featuring a number of border collie puppies. "Similar events to benefit ani- mals and their people have been held in Washington D.C., but this is a first for Salt Lake City," said Cheryl Smith, director of Wasatch Humane, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation over-population and animal suffering. "We want this event to promote the proper care of animals," she added. The Valentine's Day Fur Ball will be held Feb. 14 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in Promontory Hall at the Utah State Fairpark. The Fairpark is located at 155 N. 1000 W, Salt Lake City. Tickets are $35 per person. per-son. Well-mannered pets on a leash are free. According to Smith, appropriate appropri-ate attire includes leashes for the animals and casual attire for their guardians or escorts.
