Show mvww lime capsule buried By katherinb khboeppel While- celebrating Utah's Centennial, the children at Lindon Elementary School are looking forward for-ward to another centennial. In five ' years, the city of Lindon will be 100 hundred yean old. On Thursday, May 23, the students stu-dents filled a time capsule to be opened in the year 2001, Lindon's centennial year. A program was held to mark the event. A representative repre-sentative from each class put something in the capsule that would represent their class. These included books with biographies of the students as well as drawings. One class put in a little yellow paper duck. . , The school's Centennial Choir sang at the program. A former teacher Mr. Victory Ormsby was honored. Mr. Ormsby taught at Lindon Elementary for 13 years. He passed away last May of cancer. can-cer. A plaque was presented to his wife Sue and a daughter Anella. Besides being the state's centennial, cen-tennial, this year is significant for the elementary school because next year many of the school's students stu-dents will be attending the new Rocky Mountain Elementary School, said sixth grade teacher Luann Albaugh. The time capsule was buried in front of the school on Friday, the last day of school. On May 13 Frontier beat the Sox, 10-4; Wallbangers dropped Wils, 6-4; Rockies wiped out the Rebels, 8-1; Castlewood beat Edde, 15-3; Mt. West beat Gore, 10-4; and ' Cardinals dropped Profile, 3-1. On May 15 Profile beat the Sox, 22-4; Mitchell beat the Rebels, 6-3; Edde outlasted the Magic, 14-12; Mt.West . beat Wils, 8-0; Castlewood bowled over Frontier, 14-3; and Wallbangers slid by the Rockies, 6-3. ' On May 20 Mt. West dropped the Wallbangers, 7-2; Castlewood beat Profile, 9-0; the Rockies downed Mitchell, 6-2; Magic squeaked by Frontier, 6-5; the Cardinals beat Wils, 4-2; and Gore unseated the Sox, 20-0. On May 22 Castlewood defeated defeat-ed Gore, 7-4; Rockies downed Edde, 12-8; the Frontier slid by the Rebels, 8-7; Profile defeated the Magic, 12-11; Wallbangers dropped Mitchell, 11-1; and Mt. The clinics include a blood pressure check, a Pap test, pelvic and breast examinations, and a . mammogram voucher for those eligible, eli-gible, and follow-up.
