Show Thursday, December 20, 2007 26 SPRINGVILLE HERALD Career and Technology Education Program in Nebo district Lana Hiskey PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFCER JoAnn Tuttle, program coordinator, presented to Nebo School Board of Education Ed-ucation about the Career and Technology Education Program. The Career and Technology Education Program Pro-gram prepares students for careers. These careers include technology, business, busi-ness, health care, photography, photog-raphy, cosmetology, family fam-ily consumer science and courses involving trades such as welding, auto mechanics, me-chanics, wood working, and drafting. One of the challenges is always staying current with the latest technology so the students continue to be prepared for the working work-ing world. There are over 7,000 students enrolled in Career and Technology courses. Mrs. Hadlock's fourth grader's at Art City Elementary had fun making m odels of homes that would have been found in Utah hundreds of years ago and inhabited by the Indians who lived here. The Navajo tribe loved in a type of home called the Hogan and the Ute Indians calkd tepees their home Perhaps the most famous are those who built their homes into the side of cliffs and mountains and where the cliff dwellers. You can still see remnants of their homes today. That means they were pretty well built. We learned so much about Utah's past and had a great time doing it too!
