The one I use is Bob Greene's Best Life Diet (he's Oprah's guy). It's $49 for three months and you can just log in everything about yourself. Every lit- Pfte-obsessive-compulsive need youive ever had can be met on these web sites. The only problem is you've got to be able to 'remember what you did during the day. And sometimes I can't. I'm not sure if it's that I don't want to or if I really can't. Sometimes the idea of remembering what actually ac-tually went into my mouth seems so absurd and overwhelming, over-whelming, it just staggers my imagination. And logging my exercise exer-cise is such a reality check I almost throw up. Nevertheless, Never-theless, I continue to pay my $49 because it makes me feel like I'm actually doing something about my body, even when I'm not. The huge bowl of ice cream with Cool Whip and chocolate syrup and nuts that I ate yesterday is not going to go away even if I obsessively write in every bite I took on "Todayi's Food Log." The biggest problem with me ever being skinny is my ambivalence about it. If we're completely honest, don't you find a lot of skinny people to be grumpy? They are just not getting enough carbs to be happy; there just isn't enough fat coating their brain to give them that snuggy warm feeling that fat people have. Also, fat people are undemanding. That's why I eat so much junk. I eat whatever anybody gives me. I never HAVE to have a salad or skip dessert, because I don't care. This is very handy with your kids. You can always take them out for ice cream orj make a treat. : This weekend we had homemade chocolate ice cream. I went to the store to get the ingredients ingredi-ents for the low-fat version, ver-sion, but they were out of some of the things and the jug of milk I bought fell out of the car and burst all over the sidewalk. I felt this was 4i i a ic ft'RAKCEAGEll'Cl' home auto life business Richard Foote Ross Sctiofield a sign that if you're going go-ing to make ice cream, make it worthwhile. So I went back to the store and got half and half and whipping cream and chocolate syrup. It was heaven. Gone in a flash! The other nice thing about being fat is that you feel so squishy and huggable. I can tell when my grandkids hug me that they like something substantial to hold on to. And I know people hug me sometimes who are just hugging me because be-cause they've never hugged anybody' so fat and loveable. Because I'm well-fed. In some societies, being fat is a sign of prosperity. My daughter spent a year in Uganda awhile back, when AIDS was rampant, and the ultimate ul-timate compliment you could give someone is "Oh, you are looking soooo fat!" On the other hand, when my sister comes to visit me from Vail, Colorado, Colo-rado, where she lives, she constantly comments on how fat people are here. It used to bother me until I visited her and went to the grocery store and saw all the cadavers shopping there. Believe me, fat can be a relative thing. The only problem is the morality of fatness. No one ever really talks about gluttony anymore, but then we don't talk much about lust or any of the seven deadly sins either. I always eat the last bite. I figure if someone's dumb enough to leave something some-thing yummy, they're too dumb to appreciate it. But every once in awhile, I feel guilty about that. Guilty about consuming consum-ing so many of our natural natu-ral food resources. Guilty about not eating all the fruits and veggies I should. Guilty about thinking that bread without with-out butter is like cake without frosting. It's just not right. However, if guilt ruled my world, I would have given up a long time ago. I'll just keep logging log-ging those points in, trying try-ing to keep to the same size jeans as last year. If I don't have to buy new clothes, I can afford to make more ice cream! comment, a motion was passed to change the density den-sity 350 units. The city attorney will now draft a Memorandum of Understanding Under-standing and the council will discuss final approval approv-al at the next meeting. In other matters, the mayor was authorized to sign an agreement for sharing the construction costs of the new four-million gallon water tank with developers. The council also passed a resolution to sign a Utah County Municipal Recreation Grant Agreement Agree-ment Contract, and a resolution was passed authorizing au-thorizing the purchase of a new cab tractor for the Parks and Recreation Department.
