Show Thursday, March 1, 2007 NoreenAcord Wheeler Enid NoreenAcord Wheeler Wheel-er passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a generous heart that always thought of others first. She was born on April 6, 1934 in Spring City, Utah, to Orson Thayne Acord and Genniel Baxter. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald V. Wheeler, on September Sep-tember 10, 1954 in the Manti LDS Temple. She attended schools in Spring City and graduated from North Sanpete High School. She also attended Snow College. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Primary President, Stake Primary President and secretary sec-retary in the Sunday School and Relief Society. She served the last 15 years typing typ-ing Patriarchal Blessings for Springville Stake Patriarch Ray Cope. Noreen worked throughout through-out her life as a secretary in different capacities in the school systems including 20 years at Springville High School. She always took a genuine interest in those around her showing her care and concern for others. Noreen is survived by her husband of over 52 years; children: chil-dren: Annette Davis, Mary Lynne (Alan) York, Kathryn SPRINGVILLE HERALD 13 0 Noreen Acord Wheeler (Calvin) Crandall, and Mark (Kristie Bird) Wheeler; 16 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters: Pamela Pame-la (Russell) Jorgensen and Judith Ju-dith Acord Anthony; Brothers: Broth-ers: Michael (Jolene) Watson, Wat-son, Dennis (Kaye) Watson, Donald (Nanette) Watson, William (Marhn) Acord and Dean (Loraine) Acord. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Genniel Watson and Orson Thayne and Lorraine Acord. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Mar. 2, at 11 am at the Springville Stake Center, 600 E. 245 South, Springville. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 South, Springville, and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be' in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at www.wheelermortuary. com Harry Joseph Hulce Harry Joseph Hulce, age 93, loving husband and father, was called home on Wednesday, Febr. 21, 2007. He was born March 18, 1913 in Gary, Indiana, the son of Arthur W. and Mary Maltby Hulce. As a young boy, he helped his father deliver eggs and milk by horse and buggy. He hunted frogs and snapping snap-ping turtles, and sold them to stores and restaurants to earn extra change. He attended Lew Wallace Wal-lace High School, and graduated grad-uated in 1932. He earned a college scholarship for his outstanding abilities in track, but because of the Depression, was unable to use the scholarship. He played in a dance band in Chicago, and began working work-ing at the steel mill in Gary, Indiana. Harry met the love of his life, Joyce Hansen, in high school orchestra. Harry played the drums, and Joyce played the cello. cel-lo. Harry and Joyce were married in October of 1935, and she held his hand until the end of his life. In 1947, Harry and Joyce came to Springville, Utah, because of Joyce's health. They left everything every-thing behind in Indiana, and started a new life in Utah. They raised six children chil-dren and Harry worked at Geneva Steel. He retired in 1975 after 42 years. Harry had a beautiful tenor singing voice, and XfHUKK.m l l I.IUWI.I.U).! UJ..U...UU If I ; ; ' . ml 1 &4 ' Harry Joseph Hulce enjoyed singing in the Springville Community Church choir, and caroling with friends at Christmas. He enjoyed repairing bikes and automobiles, raising rais-ing chickens and rabbits, growing a garden, and woodworking. Many Utah County children still enjoy his doll houses, garages, old time trucks and Noah's Arks. He worked on family fam-ily genealogy, enjoyed learning about the Civil War, and reading history novels. He enjoyed camping camp-ing and fishing with family and friends at Twin Lakes, Idaho. He loved to whistle. Harry is survived by his wife of 72 years, Joyce; and their children: Harry M. Hulce (Yvonne) of Tremonton, Utah; Margaret Marga-ret (Nick) Christensen of Springville, Kenny (Patty) of Springville, Jim (Carol) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, son-in-law Harold Smith of Springville, and daughter-in-law Ila Ann Hulce of Springville. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and forty-two forty-two great and great-great Last week, the second graders at Cherry Creek Elementary performed a patriotic program for their families. They sang an array of songs that made us proud to be Americans!
