She was born February Febru-ary 20, 1927 in Springville to Joseph Hyrum and Minnie Averett Barker. She married mar-ried Vincent West on June 20, 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. She was a former resident resi-dent of Sunset, Utah. She worked at the Tooele Ordinance Or-dinance Depot and in the school lunch program. She is a member of the Springville Spring-ville 7th Ward and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Pio-neers. She served as a tour guide at the Provo Tabernacle Taber-nacle and has held various church callings. She has been an avid genealogist, gardener and traveler during her life. R. (Heather) Holm, has published her first novel, "Against an Amber Sky." Readers will fall in love with this novel and its leading lead-ing character, Bodi Brooks, a smart, fun-loving, daydreaming day-dreaming teenage girl. Bodi thinks life, with the exception excep-tion of a few kinks she's been working out, is pretty good-until adversity strikes and leaves her with a pile of broken dreams. Bodi then finds herself fighting to discover the answers an-swers to faith-threatening questions.
