The only daughter of Oliver and Prescenda Oakley, she was born and raised with three brothers in Springville, Utah - to her the sweetest spot on Earth. In 1945, she was swept off her feet by the charming Charles L. Turner. They married and moved to Colorado where together they raised a family, created a memorable home, entertained enter-tained innumerable relatives and friends, and on more than one occasion made room for strangers. CLT "Chuckdied in 1993, and for the first time in her life, Lucille lived on her own for several years in Phoenix, Arizona. She returned to Colorado Col-orado in 1999 after her first battle with cancer. Every individual graced by "Lucy's" . acquaintance will forever remember her well-coordinated well-coordinated sparkle. Those lucky enough to know her beyond her great first impression im-pression were dazzled by her warmth, hospitality and generosity. gen-erosity. She was a loyal, devoted de-voted friend to several fortunate fortu-nate ones. Her sons and daughter, their spouses, her nieces and nephews know, without doubt, they are loved beyond measure. And then there are her precious grandchildren .... adored by "Nana," her generosity of self toward Janice C. Higbee Janice C. Higbee passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2006. She was born on August 13, 1921 in Springville, Utah, to Lawrence and Delia Palfrey-man Palfrey-man Clark. Janice was a Winnemucca resident for over 50 years. Lamond "Monte" and Janice opened the Stockmen's Store and owned and operated it for 25 years. She was active in the community, and she enjoyed being a member of the Winnemucca Chiefs, which promoted Winnemucca Winnemuc-ca around the West. She also loved being a member of the Booster Club and Sorority. In the last several years, she enjoyed the friendship of a knitting club and sharing her passion for her hobby. She was a lifelong member of the IDS Church. Janice enjoyed traveling throughout her life. She and Lamond took wonderful trips to Europe, Japan, China and Hawaii. She also trav-. trav-. eled with her friends to Canada, and many places in the United States, with her favorite being Branson, Missouri. Mis-souri. She loved to make her yearly trip to Springville for her annual high school reunion. re-union. In 2005, she attended her 67th reunion. In all her years, she only missed one reunion due to illness. Janice's greatestjoy in life was her family. She loved them all dearly, and especially especial-ly every new baby that came along. Her freat-grandchildren and ba-ies ba-ies yet to be born will be gifted many hilarious and tender tales. Her greatest treasure in life was her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ, in whose presence she now gloriously glo-riously dwells. Left to mourn the loss of their beloved Mom and Nana are Trent Turner, Chris and Cheyanne Turner Beal, John and Patrice Turner Kezer, Tom and Linzee Kezer Klinkenberg, Loryn Kezer, Tim and Marvene Turner, Simeon, DJ, Ashton and Leia Turner, Hans, Beth and Dara Turner, Britta Turner and extended family and friends: Katie, Karole, Jackie and Reed, Mary Jo and Mill, beloved in-laws, brothers and sisters in Christ, neighbors neigh-bors ... the list is nearly unending. un-ending. Cleon was born September 1, 1920, the 10th and youngest child of William John and Catherine Evans Padf ield Craig in Winter Win-ter Quarters, Carbon County, Coun-ty, Utah. He was the last surviving sur-viving child of his immediate family. In his early years, he attended at-tended school in Castle Gate and Price, Utah. He attended Henager's Business College. He was taught and then shared with his children the importance of good work ethics and to not just do a job well, but to go two miles ex- tra! He could do anything he set his mind to (except plumbing)! He was a salesman for Gerber Baby Food company compa-ny for over 25 years. When he retired from Gerber he became a salesman for Attaboy At-taboy food company. Then he volunteered and later became manager at the Bishop's Storehouse in Lin-don, Lin-don, where he worked for another 17 years. He moved to St. George and worked at the Coronada Motel as a maintenance worker until an automobile accident forced his retirement retire-ment at the age of 82. He married his high school sweetheart, Elaine Thorn, on September 19, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were a special couple to many people through their 52 years of marriage. They had three children: Marylou (Rulon) Condie of Springville, Kelly (Ann) Craig of Springville, and Corry (Kristin) Craig of Logan. They have 15 grandchildren grand-children and 21 great-grandchildren. Elaine preceded him in death on March 7, 1992. He became step-father to Mary Ellen's four children: Brad (Blanca) Hone of St. George, Becky (Ray) Adams of Hurricane, Melissa (Jared) Ruiz of Payson, and Kellie Ann (Mike) Duncan of Spanish Fork. Thirteen grandchildren grandchil-dren survive his second marriage. mar-riage. He and Mary Ellen lived in Springville, American Ameri-can Fork, and then moved to Ivins, Utah. He served in many church callings: Sunday school superintendent, su-perintendent, Ward Clerk, Elder's Quorum President and High Priests group leader. He was honored as the recipient of the "Distinguished "Distin-guished President Award" from the Springville Kiwanis Club when he was president of that club. He also received a "safe driving award' from Gerber Products Company. He was a fun-loving tease and he still sported a current motorcycle license at the age of 85. A time for family and friends to commemorate this remarkable man's life will be held today, Thursday, Apr. 20, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 55 N. Main, Springville. Friends and family fam-ily may call at the church one hour prior to services. Interment Inter-ment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Ceme-tery.
