There are nine teacher assistants as-sistants in the library this year, and they are all helping Mrs. Rabner with the responsibilities re-sponsibilities of running Springville High's library. The responsibilities of a library li-brary assistants include things such as shelving the books that have been misplaced mis-placed or checked out, and putting them back where they belong. Also, T.A.S help students with any questions they may have, and of course, they are in charge of checking in and out the books. Mrs. Rabner says that the qualities she likes in a good library li-brary aid are the ability to sr il I f if i Ijr Springville Exit 260 off 1-15 06-95 pay attention and follow instructions in-structions well. She also likes her aides to enjoy helping help-ing others and to have good work ethics. To become a library assistant, assis-tant, students need to ask the Mrs. Rabner in person if they could be a T.A, and the final decision is left up to her. She has the final say on who gets to be an assistant and who doesn't. When I asked one of the library li-brary assistants, Natalie Miner, if she liked working in the library she said "Yes, I like it, and it gives me a lot more time to do my homework." home-work." She says her most common task is checking in and out books, but she also does a lot of re-shelving of books. The other T.A's are Jessica Robison, Dallin Butcher, Tyson Stark, Ramon Foster, Danielle Taylor, Daniel Robison, Robi-son, Danny Young, and Mike Hunsaker. For those of you that haven't been to the library much this year, the hours are from seven in the morning until four after school each day. It's a good place to go to get your research and other schoolwork done, and it's also a great place to go when you have nowhere else be. The SHS library has a large selection of popular magazines on hand for your reading enjoyment, and comfy com-fy chairs to sit in. They also have a lot of computers for doing things on the Internet and other things. The library just got a lot of new books in as well, most of them are fiction. fic-tion. In Mrs. Rabner's words, "The library is a pretty cool place." Jordan Jacobsen SHS STAFF WRITER The Class of 2006 Valedictorian and Salutatorian have recently been announced.
