In a special court of honor these Scouters were presented the On My Honor badge. Between them, they have approximately 85 years of service to Scouting. They are from left, Fred Erickson, Max Alleman, and Pete Orton. members of the Springville Second Ward. Scouters receive awards Three Springville Scouters, Fred Erickson, Max Alleman, and Pete Orton were presented a' special On My Honor badge in a recent court of honor. Between them, they have accumulated about 85 years . in Scouting. Mr. Erickson was cubmaster of Springville's first Cub Scout Pack, has been Cub Scout Roundtable director, a scoutmaster for 16 years, Scout Roundtable director, district chairman of Boy Scouting since 1976, and for thee years his troop was in the top 50 troops in the LDS Church. Fred pioneer Boy Scout leader training courses in Utah National Parks Council and then served as Course director, currently is serving as council coordinator for Boy Scout leader training, as Hobble Creek District Boy Scout chairman and as chairman of Troop committee of Troop 61 in Springville Second Ward. Among Fred's awards are Hobble Creek Award of Merit, Silver Beaver, William T. Hornaday Award for conservation with his Scout Troop, has had Woodbadge training and has been on the Woodbage staff. Max Alleman In December 1927 Max became a Boy Scout in Troop 61 in Springville and progressed to become one of the first Vanguards. This was the forerunner to the Explorer Ex-plorer organization. California Spring tour. An object of this trip is to gain an early start on Springtime, and to provide new and exciting ex-citing experiences in the company of old and good friends. It was announced this week that a short overnight over-night tour will be taken Senior citizens to discuss "Old age is contagious" "Old Age is Contagious" Con-tagious" is the topic for after lunch discussion Friday, March 5 at the Senior Citizen Center. While old age is generally one of American Society's greatest fears, it is none the less a condition to which most of us aspire -considering the alternatives. alter-natives.
