Two members, mem-bers, Mr. Hanks, the president, and Dr. Tipton, still have two years left on their four year terms. Mr. Hjorth and Mr. Swenson, current incumbents whose terms expired January 1, were re-elected and Mrs. Maurine Hiatt was elected from the south end of the district for a four year term. She will replace Mr. Crook, vice-president of the board, who chose not to run for for re-election. Some concern has been expressed ex-pressed about the voting districts for school board members. Concern is centered around the fact that voting districts cut into several communities com-munities or that they follow irregular boundry lines. If you will recall, the legislature, in 1974, required that all districts be reapportioned so that each district would contain the same number of eligible voters. This task fell to the county and the voting districts were established to provide equal representation. Even though school board elections are nonpartisan and seemingly low key, there are usually several issues involved which center around disagreement over how certain practices, policies, or programs are operated.
