Show Book fair slated at Grant School The Grant School and PTA is sponsoring a BOOK FAIR on Wednesday, Nov. 10 through Friday, Nov. 19 from 9 ajn. to 3:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. New books from pre-school to all elementary grade levels will be featured with prices ranging from 25 cents to several dollars. The book fair is held to encourage en-courage student interest in reading and In building home libraries. The display will include in-clude attractive new paperback and hardback books from many publishers. All reading interests will be represented, including classics, fiction, biographies, adventure stories, science, nature, crafts, mystery and reference books. Since the books may be purchased pur-chased at the fair, there will be, no need to wait for orders to be filled. The book fair committee invites in-vites all students, parents, grandparents and visitors to attend the fair and look over the outstanding selection of books. Taylor of Mapleton, has been named Springville fligh School Senior of the Week. Sharmayne is an active senior at Springville High where she is serving as studentbody secretary. She is a member of the A.P. English class and also of the National Honor Society. Active in Girl's Athletic Association, she is currenly on the varisty volleyball team. Sharmayne received first place in the Voice of Democracy contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She has also served as Laurel T President in her ward. Her interests in-terests include sewing, skiiing, , hiking and all sports. She plans to attend college after graduation from high school. Jayne. Governor Jayne was also a doctor. Her good friend in Deadwood was Wild Bill Hick ok. 8 S3 I Trimr-ifr i Mapleton crew gets first aid update training Mapleton firemen got a first aid update from the Springville ambulance crew when Lynne, Wright and David Anderson discussed cardio pulmonary resuscitation and the Hymlic Maneuver at their last meeting. The technicians demonstrated CPR as a one person method, than as a two person team method. The firemen then got to practice the CPR method on the human form dummy Resuscitation Annie. Technicians Lynne and David answered questions about first aid and demonstrated techniques to relieve a choking person. The Mapleton Firemen expressed ex-pressed thanks for the update training and praised the Springville technicians for their ambitious desire to aid others in saving lives, said Wynn Everett, assistant chief of the Mapleton Fire Department.
