Johnson Joseph belbert Johnson, 74, of 234 W. 100 S., Springville, died of a heart ailment Wednesday,' March 26, 1975 in Payson City Hospital. He was born May 2, 1901 in Spanish Fork, the son of Helge and Eleanor Jones Johnson. He married Essie Roylance in 1927 and the marriage was solemnized solem-nized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died in 1959. He married Arvella Menary on Nov. 9, 1962 in Springville. Mr. Johnson was a member of the LDS Church and was active in the Springville Senior citizens organization. He had been employed by Rio Grande Railroad until his retirement Survivors include his widow, one son and one daughter, Joseph D. (Bud) Johnson, Springville, and Mrs. Douglas (Norma) . Chaff ey, El Centro, Calif.; three stepsons and one stepdaughter, Bill Devenish, and Tony Devenish, both of Springville; Glade Devenish, Sacramento, Calif-; and Mrs. Ned (Louise) King, Provo, 31 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Hazel J. Robbs, Hiawatha, Carbon County, and a half brother, Don Evans, Murray. Funeral services were Saturday in the Springville Third-Ninth LDS Ward Chapel. Bp. Packard Condie of the Ninth Ward officiated. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Resident's sister dies March 28 Sylvia Verl Miner Wilde, 67 of 255 E. 600 N., Provo, died Friday, March 28, 1975, at Utah Valley Hospital of a heart attack. at-tack. She was born June 10, 1907 to Lester Curtis and Sylvia Rebecca Anderson Miner. She married Orvil Eskel Wilde on April 3, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Survivors , include her husband; Garn Miner Wilde, and Garth Lynn Wilde, all Provo; nine grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Lester C. Miner, Fairview; three brothers and two sisters, James Edwin Miner, Lester Olen Miner, Myrth Curtis Miner, all Fairview; Mrs. Ray S. (Fay) Tanner, Salt Lake City; Mrs; Russell N. (Leah) Stansfield, Springville. Funeral services were in the Manavu LDS Ward Chapel, 395 E. 600 N., Provo. Burial was in Fairview City Cemetery. She was born Sept. 7, 1906 in Springville, a daughter of William and Mary Alice Bark- Olga (Jerry) W.Smith doull Whitehead. She married Golden Smith on June 21, 1941 in Kingman, Ariz. Mrs. Smith received her education in Springville, and was a member of the LDS Church in the Springville 3rd Ward. Throughout her life she was active in civic work and in the Cancer and Heart Associations. She received her nursing training at Holy Cross School of Nursing in Salt Lake City, and did post-graduate work in Chicago at the Nursing College. . She was head nurse at the Aird Hospital, and worked at the Utah Valley Hospital as an anaesthelolgist for many years. She was a registered nurse at the Clark Clinic, and also served as superintendent of nurses at the Eldred Manor before retiring in 1970. Mrs. Smith was active in the local Nursing Association and was a member of the American Nurses Association. She belonged to the Springville Senior Citizens and enjoyed gardening and needlwrok. Surviving are her husband of Springville; on step-daughter, Mrs. Quinton (Dorothy) Q. Holmes, of Sacramento, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four brothers, Grant Whitehead of Springville, William Whitehead of Altonah, Utah; Clifton Whitehead of Hunter, and James M. Whitehead of Spokane, gash. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, Provo. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery. Father dies on March 31 Frank Alvin Jones, 69, of 3020 Cherokee Lane, Provo, died Monday, March 31, 1975 at Utah Valley Hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1906 in Provo, a son of Hyrum E. and Mary Elizabeth Stickney Jones. He married Ruth Lester on April 11, 1929 in Los Angeles, and the marriage was solemnized later in the Mesa LDS Temple. Mr. Jones played the clarinet in several name bands in California. For 40 years he was a partner with a brother in Jones Knitting Mills, Los Angeles. He retired and moved to Provo in 1970. Survivors include his widow, two sons and three daughters, Jerry Jones, Oxnard, Calif; Edward Jones, Provo; Mrs. Joseph R. (Barbara) Wyson and Pamela Jones, both of Las Vegas, and Mrs. Arthur H. (Dixie) Welch, Mapleton; 27 grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Ellas H. Jones, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Alberta Carrier, San Jose, Calif.
