Four elk were taken and a fifth animal was located within 30 feet of a pile of entrails. This was a calf elk that spoiled before it could be salvaged. According to local Conservation Con-servation Officer Brent Christensen, the site of the kill was checked out thoroughly in an attempt to locate bullets that killed the animals. A metal detector proved very helpful in this part of the investigation. Several empty bullet casings were found on the road directly below the scene of the kill. This evidence, combined with valuable information received from the public, led officers to the Morgan Forbush residence where a fresh deer carcass and fresh elk hides, feet, heads and meat trimmings were found. Officer Christensen would like to emphasize the importance of the public taking note of what goes on while they are out in the field. Many times valuable information in-formation is received because someone takes time to become involved. alrW 1 tN lid February 17, 1972 The WANTED WANTED LARGE, clean cotton rags with snaps, buttons, zippers removed. 15c per pound Springville Herald, 161 So.
