Springville Herald January 27, 1972 Red Devils meet Dinos Friday on Price floor Springville's Red Devils open the second half play in Region IV this Friday as they travel to Carbon to battle the Dinos in Price. They barely defeated the Dinos in their first game here and will have their hands full at the Dino lair. Game time is 8 p.m. preceded by the junior varsity contest at 6. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Gardner, he is co-captain, co-captain, a senior and fine, aggressive floor guard for the Red Devil quintet this year. Hardware lists sleigh schedule Alan Muir, Superintendent of the Hardware Ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, issued the following schedule for sleigh rides to the wintering elk herd: Monday thrugh Thursday, 1 :00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend visitors can expect large crowds and some waiting for their turn on the sleighs. Jim Christensen of the Division of Water Resources presented information on potential developments in the Fremont River system that could affect the Wildlife Resource Division's hatchery and waterfowl management area at Bicknell Bottoms. Board members were advised of the progress of legislative items affecting the Division, and heard a request to allow the sport hunting of coyotes from airplanes. Recently passed federal legislation prohibits sport hunting from aircraft. The Board approved a non-game non-game bird proclamation to become effective February 1, 1972. The proclamation allows the taking of starling, crow, magpie, and English sparrow. All other bird species are protected under the Wildlife Resources Code. The 1971-72 1971-72 falconry season ends February 28, 1972. During this period, a falconer with a certificate cer-tificate of registration and a valid hunting license can fly his birds on pheasants. Falconry is an extremely technical sport requiring much time and skill to become successful. suc-cessful. The falconer's quarry is difficult to harvest; weather conditions as well as training and conditioning birds are important in achieving success. By next fall, it is expected that work will be completed, the new addition planted and ready to open play in the late fall of 1973.
