UVednesdau J) oCo v Family Life Conference set Friday at Y for parents, family members WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1972 9 Parents and youth will have opportunity to discuss their problems together at the 10th annual Family Life Conference at Brigham Young University Friday, Jan. 28. For the first time in the history of the conference, parents and their sons and daughters are being urged to attend together. Any parent may attend, and high school students will be permitted time out of school to attend if they have approval from parents or the school principal. About 1200 persons are expected ex-pected to participate, according to Mrs. Stella Oaks, director of adult education for Provo School District and founder of the Family Life Conference. Packets of instructional materials will be presented to parents. The program is especially designed to encourage group discussions. For example, participants have been instructed in-structed to bring sack lunches so that they can eat together while completing an interesting exercise in understanding called "Putting it All Together." Also special presentations have been prepared to carry out the theme "My Family.. .Count Me In." Brief dramatizations illustrating principles of successful suc-cessful family living will be presented by high school studepts from Provo, Nebo, and Alpine School Districts. Then the audience will divide into small parent-student groups to discuss the principles illustrated in the sketches. Mrs. Oaks will give the address ad-dress of welcome at 9:30 a.m. in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. Following the luncheon, a major address will be presented by A. Lynn Scoresby, assistant professor of child development and family relationships at BYU. Mrs. Carol Lynn Pearson, writer for the BYU Motion Picture Department, has assisted the students with their scripts. Alma and Israel Heaton of the BYU College of Physical Education, will give demonstrations demon-strations of effective family recreation. Special music will be provided by the Payson Junior High School Girls' Glee Club directed by Wanda Gottfredson. Sponsoring organizations are the Nebo, Alpine, and Provo School Districts; Utah Congress of Parents and Teachers, Region 2; Regional Center for Development of Community In World War I, the combined British and French forces expended ex-pended more than twice as much artillery ammunition as did the Union forces during the entire four years of the U.S. Civil War, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. 7:00 12:00 7:10 5 Lamp Unto My Feet 4 NBA Basketball 5 Cade s County 7:10 5 NHL Hockey ' The French Chef 4 Faith For Today 1:1$ 1:00 5 Look Up & Live 2 Pride and Product 2 Neighborhood Theater 1:00 1:00 4 FBI 2 Science in Agriculture 2 Remembrance of the 7 Firing Line 4 Reluctant Dragon Holocaust 1:10 5 Rex Humbard Show 2:10 5 All in the Family 1:10 4 American Sportsman t:00 4 Double Deckers 1:10 Sunday Night Movie 1:00 4 Andy Williams Golf 5 Gunsmoke 2 Sacred Heart 5 Animal World 7 Masterpeice Theater 4 Bullwinkle 4:00 10:00 5 Day of Discovery 2 Sanford and Son 2 Scene Tonight 1:15 5 Sixty Minutes 5 Eyewitness News 2 From the Catherdral 4:10 10-20 t:10 2 Nightly News ' Bill Foster Basketball 2 Bible Answers 5:00 Show 4 Make a Wish 2 Wild Kingdom 10 40 5 Tabernacle Choir 4 Sunday Family Theater 5 Stan Watts Show 10:00 5 Basketball with Jack 11:00 2 The Answer Gardner 4 Weekend News 4 Oral Roberts 5:30 11:0$ 5-TBA 2 Wonderful World of 2 Sunday Night Movie 10:10 Disney 11:1$ 2-Human Dimension 5 cbs Movie 4 News with Sandy 4 High School Challenge :00 Gilmour 5 Face the Nation 7 Science ana Society 11:30 11:00' 4:30 4-11th Hour Movie 2-Meet the Press 2-Jlmmy Stewart 11:40 4-Dlrectlons 4 Sunday Movie ot the 5 Sunday Night Theater 5 Eleventh Hour week 11:10 7:00 2-Sunday Matinee 2-Bonanza 4 Issues and Answers 7 Zoom 5 Eyewitness Report t 1 S3 ) Mel Duke LET US HELP YOU WITH A SPECIAL VALENTINE GIFT FOR THAT SPECIAL PERSON!
