A special meeting was held at the Memorial Hall, where talks and instruction were given on safety hazards and tips for safe living for seniors. Lieutenant Governor John Y. Bearnson. New postal rates take effect this week. It will now cost five cents for first class mail, four cents for regular postcards, and eight cents for airmail letters. The fee for airmail postcards will now be six cents. The hike is expected to raise the normal family's mailing bill about nine dollars per year.
