Each year throughout the United States, hundreds of families enjoy Christmas dinners, thousands of children receive new toys, homeless men sit down on Christmas Day to a free holiday feast and shut-ins in hospitals and other institutions are visited. Salvation Army Christmas gifts come not only in the form of toys for children, but as clothing, shoes, grocery checks for a homecooked holiday dinner, and sometimes, a ton of coal or a tank of oil to keep the family warm.
