NIGHT FUNCTION was the annual Christmas formal invitational dancing party of the Nautilus social unit of the B. Y. U., tendered in Spring-vilJe's Spring-vilJe's Memorial hall. A huge Christmas tree, bright with vari-colored lights, tinsel ornaments and trimmings, etc., stood in the center of the floor and silver reindeer were arranged here and there about the hall. .The serving room presented a typical "Night Before Christmas" scene, with stockings hanging in front of the fireplace, a lighted tree and nther. motifs (if the. season. Thursday, put over the first unit of their planned activities in benefit of their project, proj-ect, that of sponsoring the erection erec-tion of a monument honoring the first Provo settlers and the old fort. The monument is to be erected near the river on West Drive. A well planned and enjoyable j social event of Friday night, was i the formal dinner-dance held by the B. Y. U. .Delta Phi members at Hotel Roberts. Thirty-eight couples attended. In keeping with the Christmas theme, red and green colored lights and candles provided the i nly illumination, and the tables, which were centered with green doilies, held lighted Christmas tapers. Baskets filled with mints were al tractive, and as favors. the girls were presented with small cedar chests filled wirn chocolates and bearing the Delta Phi emblem. The speakers' table was centered with poinsettas. Welcome remarks were made by the president, Harold Smith, who introduced the toastmaster, George prom chairman. The members may take a guest and each is asked to take five cents for admission and a five cent Christmas gift. A program will be followed by Santa Clans activities and refreshments. The women are to wear Romeo and Juliet costumes.
