There season is drawing to an end and 10 qualified for the state race. Head Coach Wendy Harris said she is impress by her team and proud of the improvements they've made throughout the year. "Most of our team members shaved seconds off of their times," said Harris. "I was really proud of all of them. We should have 10 going to state, with a possibility of 13." Greg Fugal and Brian Nielson were the only team members to place in the top four in their races. Fugal placed second and is ranked fifth in Utah, Nielson placed fourth in the 100 breast. The boys' 400 freestyle relay placed fourth. Swimming is about seconds, and shaving seconds from a time shows marked improvement for the racers. The girls' 200 medley med-ley relay team dropped seven seconds from their time. Dalton Caldwell dropped 11 seconds from his 200 freestyle time and 42 seconds from his 500. Justin Allred also shaved some time off his 500 - 14.5 seconds. sec-onds. Frank Chandler was also among those who made a drastic improvement to their time, shaving shav-ing two seconds off his typical 56 second time. Other's cutting time were Dalton Augustus, Heather Fugal, J.R. Schiltz, Scott Anderson, Ander-son, Brett Wheeler and Sammie Meinrod. The Utes will take a week to rest up before heading to Provo for their state championship on Feb. 1 and 2. - i t I' UHS cheerleaders keep warm cheering for Uintah activities Uintah High School Cheerleaders Cheer-leaders are actively busy assisting assist-ing and supporting the winter sports. Two weeks ago they participated par-ticipated in the Tournament of Champs where they assisted with scoring, timekeeping, hospitality and cheering for the wrestlers. "This is probably our busiest season, but the girls look forward to each activity," said Head Coach Karen Lawson. In between cheering for the wrestlers, they are supporting the boy's and girl's basketball teams. This is a busy season for them, last week they assisted the drill team with their region competition hosted at Uintah High School.
