Show i A4 Wednesday, January 23, 2008 Vernal Express Obituaries Cecil "Doc" Jenkins "LEGENDARY COWBOY" Cecil "Doc" Jenkins, age 89, died from natural causes on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 in Roosevelt surrounded by his family. fam-ily. Born Jan. 6, 1919 in South Ballard to Charles Lorenzo and Pearl Watkins Jenkins. Cecil grew up in Ballard. He graduated from Roosevelt High School. He attended Utah State University where he participated in their track and field and the University Band. He married Barta Lelia Merkley, later divorced. di-vorced. Dad coached sports at Roosevelt Roos-evelt High school, where he coached the 10-man team to state championship. For many years he announced the Annual Neola Rodeo. He was competitive in calf and team roping, and spent many years with his sons in the Uintah Basin Chariot Association. Doc spent his life as a rancher where he raised cattle and horses. He had a great love for the outdoors and horses. In 2000 he was honored as the "Legendary "Legend-ary Cowboy" at the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. He was a member mem-ber of the LDS Church. Doc will be remembered for his sense of humor charm, wit and love for his family. Please call Ian Hatch 789-0428 ' ; Coleman Ayers Coleman Ayers, Man of God, husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away Saturday, Satur-day, Jan. 19, 2008. He was born May 3, 1940, in Idabel, Ok. to John Lee and Nettie May Ford Ayers. Coleman married Judy Jay in Lynwood, Calif., on Feb. 24, 1962; she remained, by his side for 45 years. Coleman served his country in the U.S. Army, infantry, and later retired from Lever Bros. The last nine years of his life were completely dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. The greatest desire of his life was to tell others about his new life. He constantly read God's Word - The Bible. He was often blessing people by his words. He enjoyed worshiping God and listening to music that honored his Lord. He had been a member of The Gideon's International Inter-national and was on the National Prayer Center staff. He is survived by wife, Judy; son, Bryan (Dawn) of Prince Edward Ed-ward Island, Canada; daughter, Barbara (Jonathan) of Olathe, Kan.; brothers, Robert (Diane) of New Port Richey, Fla.; Bobbie (Georgina) of Hesperia, Calif.; Tommie (Sharon) of Hesperia, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Thursday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the World Vision Assembly of God (444 W 400 N., Vernal). Annabelle Boren Annabelle Brandt Boren, born Oct. 3, 1940, died Jan. 19, 2008, born in Gusher, the daughter of Dorothy Anderson Brandt and James Claren Brandt. Anna was married to Delmore Atwood and divorced in 1961. Two children were born, Dana Lee Atwood Coop and Frank Atwood. Anna lived in Utah most of her life. She was a cook most of her life. Anna owned a restaurant in Manila, she also was a bartender. She also worked as a dietician at Doxie Hatch Medical Center. Anna became disabled in 1990, she loved to cook and experiment with recipes, crochet, listen to country music and spending time with her family and great grandson who was the "apple of her eye." Anna was also an avid Jazz fan, and very seldom missed watching a game. Anna was born and raised as LDS, she was baptized in Ballard at the age of 8. Anna is preceded in death by son, Ray Del Atwood; brother, Eldrith Brandt; and three sisters, sis-ters, Lula Jones, Lola Edrington and Clarrene Hemphill; two nieces, Darlene Roy and JoAnn Cawalader; and one nephew, Craig Jones. ." w. k Anna is survived by a daughter, daugh-ter, Dana Lee Atwood and Coop (George); granddaughter, Lynnette Coop; and one great-grandson, great-grandson, Jackie D. Burial will take place at the Tridel Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Dorlene Brown Dorlene Brown, age 73, of Vernal Ver-nal passed away Jan. 15, 2008. She was born in Vernal, Aug. 17, 1934, to Peter Leon Galley and Alice Dixon Galley. Dorlene was a Jehovah's Witness and was a very active member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. She would teach and visit members. She loved to garden, work in her yard and make trips to the mountains. She loved her children and grandchildren grandchil-dren very much. Dorlene is survived by sons, Mark A. (Becky) Brown ofVernal; Dace L. Brown of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Kathy L. (Dan) Schaad ofVernal; brothers, Sheldon (Ellen) (El-len) Galley, Dale (Donnie) Galley, Dallas Galley; sisters, Erva Harris, Har-ris, Leona Rushing, Kay (Pierre) Johnson; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. X v. Zoe Mueller Zoe Mueller, 99, of London, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center in Russellville, Ark. The daughter of William and Savannah Savan-nah Runyan Priebe, she was born Oct. 23, 1908 in London, Ark. She married Earl Burgess Mueller in Dec. 7, 1928 at her mother's home in London, Ark. Zoe worked in the lunchroom of the Artesia Elementary School in Artesia, Colo., for more than 20 years. She and Earl retired and moved back to London, Ark., in 1976. She was a wonderful home-maker, home-maker, an excellent cook and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by husband, Earl B. Mueller; parents; a son, William Fay Mueller; a grandson, Mike Steele; two brothers, Louie Priebe and John Henry Priebe; and a sister, Minnie Anderson. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Elbert Mueller and wife Judy of Jensen; a daughter and son-in-law, Savannah Savan-nah Janette Steele and husband Jim of Rangely, Colo. ;two sisters, Vylena Price of Russellville, Ark., and Janette Price of Clarksville, Ark.; 1 1 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
