Rhoades Diane Miller Rhoades, 68, passed away suddenly on Dec. 2, 2006 in Port Orange, Fla., having recently moved from Vernal, Utah. Diane was born in Middletown, Ohio on Nov. 19, 1938. Diane was an active member mem-ber of the Kingsbury Church of the United Church of Christ in Venial and treasured the many friendships she made. With joy she served on the Ladies Aid and Diaconate committees. She had overflowing overflow-ing love for her big dogs Chuk and Chloe. Diane is survived by her four children: William Harry (Marianne), Columbia, Mo.; Kimm Harty (Valerie), Salt Lake City; James Harty (Kim) Santa Rosa, Calif.; Kristin Darago (Stephen), Port Orange, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jenna, Jill, Chis, and Sam; and brother Gary Miller, Surrey, B.C. Preceded in death by her husband Marvin Rhoades ("the love of her life"); mother Ruth Rivers; and grandparents June and Arthur Wahlquist. A memorial service was held on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at the United Church of Christ in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Final resting will be at some time in the future, at Rock Point Cemetery, Maeser. She was born July 13, 1914 to Virgel Burke and Alice Williams Burke on July 13, 1914 in Vernal. She married David Milburn Hatch Oct 8, 1934 in Idaho Falls, Idaho; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake IDS Temple on August 18, 1954. Grace was the fourth of eight children. She was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, devoted and loving, mother of 6 children. All who knew Grace felt her goodness, kindness and love. She was a member of women's auxiliary club of Vernal. Grace was a primary teacher, teach-er, stake young women's drama director, served in the Relief Society presidency, Cub Scout den mother, taught Sunday School and was a dedicated conference room, and bathrooms SOME GREEN! Grace Burke Hatch visiting teacher for the LDS Church for 60 plus years. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Milburn Hatch; and sons Roger Hatch, Milburn Junior Hatch, and Ronald Hatch; daughter-in-law Sherry Hatch; and grandson, Steven Hatch; four brothers and two sisters, and grandson-in-law Ty Asay. She is survived by Neva Nemeth, Irvine, Calif.; Sondra (Keith) Shipton of Vernal; Dale (Joan) Hatch of SLC; brother, broth-er, Keith Burke of Blackfoot, Idaho; 41 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Naples 2nd Ward Chapel, 1500 East Hwy 40. A viewing was held one hour prior to services. Lori was born to James Monahan and Linda Knight Monahan in Salt Lake City, Sept. 21, 1966, but lived most of her life in Vernal. Lori married Douglas McConkie in her thirties and though they later divorced, they remained the best of friends. Lori's life was not an easy one, but she had a good sense of humor, enjoyed crochet, cro-chet, and had many friends. Lori is survived by her mother Linda Knight Spendlove (Jeff) of Slidell La.; daughter Lindsy Monahan Hold (James) of Brigham City; brothers Christopher Kilpack (Sydney) of Idaho Falls, and Lee Kilpack (Josi) of Willard, Utah; one grandson Clark James, with another due in February; as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her beloved grandparents, Miland and Lois Knight, we believe she has finally found the peace that was so difficult for her to find in this life. She was loved by many and will be missed. Friends and family are welcome wel-come to attend a service in her honor at 11 a.m. on Wednesday Dec. 13, 2006 at the Thompson-Blackburn Thompson-Blackburn Mortuary at 15 East 100 North. Brandon Jay Collins Brandon Jay Collins Brandon Jay Collins, age 28, of Rock Springs, Wyo., passed away Dec. 5, 2006, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Gillette, Wyo. He was born Feb. 15, 1978, in Rock Springs, to Homer Ed "JR" Collins, Jr. and Rayma Jean "Jeanne" Norton. Brandon worked as a crane operator for Mullin's Crane and Transport of Wyoming which he enjoyed very much. He was a natural athlete and had a great sense of humor. He worked hard, played hard everything at full speed. He loved his family and his friends and was very loyal to them. He is survived by his daughter, daugh-ter, Kiley Collins, East Moline, 111.; loving companion, Marie Priddy, Rock Springs; Marie's children, Dakota and Stetson Christensen; parents, Jeanne (Calvin) Richens, Lapoint; " JR" (Marilyn) Collins, Gillette, Wyo; grandparents, Mary Norton, Lapoint; Homer and Janet Collins, South Dakota; brothers and sister, Eddie Collins, Salt Lake City; Angel Collins, Lapoint; Joey (Tiffany) Collins, Eagle Mountain, Utah; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, cous-ins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Norton. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at the Lapoint LDS Chapel.
