Prior to that time, he worked at IML Freight Incorporated for seventeen years where he completed a career as vice president and general sates manager, A native of Ogden, Utah, Mr. Ball graduated from Ogden High School and Weber State College, where he served as student body president Mr. Ball served as chairman of the Weber State University Board of Trustees. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Humanities Degree from Weber State in 1999 and was the 1999 winner of the Emeritus Alumni Award from the University of Utah. He also is a recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Sal! Lake Community College. He is a recipient of the Alumnus of the Year Award from Weber State. He is also an alumnus of the University of Utah and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Mr. Ball has been heard daily for 21 years on Utah radio. His program, Speaking on Business, is heard twice each day on 14 stations throughout the State of Utah and on eight stations in Idaho. He was named as the 2002 Small Business Administration Journalist of the Year. Mr. Ball has been named "A Giant in our City," by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce; Salesman of the Year by the Sales and Marketing Executives international; Speaker of the Year by Toastmasters International; Communicator of tha Year by the PRSA, (Public Relations Society of America). He was the first recipient of the Utah State Governor's Department of Commerce Leader of the Year Award, awarded the Small Business Advocate of The Year by The Small Business Administration and has received the Minute-Man Award and Citizen of the Year Award from the Utah National Guard. Mr. Ball is an Honorary Colonel in the Utah National Guard and both the Salt Lake City Police Department and the Salt Lake County Sheriffs Office.
