REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS TO SELL NATIVE ASPHALT (TAR SANDS) AND OR MIXED ASPHALT Uintah County is soliciting solic-iting proposals to provide native asphalt (tar sands) andor mixed asphalt for use in Uintah County, Utah. The native asphalt must have a bitumen content of no less than 10 percent The asphalt mix design must have proven history of success suc-cess and be approved by Uintah County Road Dept. Uintah County will purchase an initial 10,000 tons to be used on an as needed basis and would prefer the option to purchase an additional addition-al 10,000 tons or more on an as needed basis. The location or point of delivery of the product must be located within 60 miles of Vernal City limits. Uintah County will pick up material at the delivery location as it is ordered. Vendor must include in its proposal the delivery location and method of loading of the material, and the minimum mini-mum and maximum quan tity of material which it is willing to deliver. Also required is a price per ton for the native asphalt (tar sands) andor mixed asphalt A chemical analysis anal-ysis of the product is preferred. pre-ferred. Acceptance of the proposal pro-posal will take into consideration, con-sideration, but will not be solely limited to the haul distance, price per ton, quality of and immediate availability of the product prod-uct The proposal must be submitted to Uintah County Clerk Auditor 147 East Main Vernal, Utah 84078 no later than by 9:00 a.m. on July 28th, 2006. Proposals must be in a sealed envelope and marked UINTAH COUNTY Asphalt Proposal. Proposals will be opened during a public pub-lic meeting on July 31, 2006. Proposals may be awarded at that time or held for consideration until the next Uintah County Commission Meeting. After a proposal pro-posal has been accepted an Agreement to Sell Asphalt will be approved and signed by vendor and Uintah County with terms and conditions which reflect the proposals conditions con-ditions and any other conditions which are acceptable to both parties. Uintah County reserves the right to accept or reject one or more of the proposals submitted.
