Jim and Rosetta McMickell I rrs I Heather Hobbs and Antonio Canepa Hobbs and Canepa wed September 21 Devin Bunker and Melissa Southam McMickells celebrate Heather Hobbs and Antonio Canepa were married Sept. 21 at the Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville, Wash. The bride is the daughter of Joe and Jacque Hobbs of Vernal. She is a 1993 graduate of Uintah High School and a 1998 graduate of USU. She is employed as a marketing market-ing analyst at ScenicSoft, Inc. in Lynnwood. Wash. The groom is the son of Alfred and Valarie Canepa of Jacksonville, Fla. and of Anthony and Norma -Sassone of Olympia, Wash. He is a 1993 graduate of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County, Va. and a 1998 graduate of the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash. He is employed as a software engineer with ScenicSoft, Inc. The couple will make their home in Redmond, Wash. Center Street, in Lindon from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Clifton and Jackie Southam of Vemal. She is a graduate of Uintah High School and served a mission in Los Angeles, Calif. She is employed at Seitz Eye Care in Vernal. . The groom is the son of Edward and Darlene Bunker of Lindon. He is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and is employed at RW Jones Trucking. The couple will make their home in Vernal. Laura Thompson Laura Thompson turns 83 An open house will be held to celebrate Laura Thompson's 83rd birthday on Oct 20 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Davis 1st Ward, 3990 S. 1500 E. . Laura married Verl Thompson in June of 1938. They had six children, chil-dren, Clyde, Clara Hardman, Glenn (deceased), Deon Heed (deceased). Linda Dodson and Larell (deceased). They have many grandchildren grand-children and great-grandchildren. Thompson worked as a home-maker home-maker all of her adult life as well as at the Lamplighter Inn for a time. She particularly enjoyed working outside and going hunting and fishing. fish-ing. The open house will be hosted by Thompson's family and friends. Wilson earns Eagle Aaron LaVell Wilson, son of Daryl and Lela Wilson, received his Eagle Scout aw ard on Sept 12. Wilson is a member of Troop 240 and received his award at Naples Chapel. He has been active in the Order of the Arrow and serv ed as Chapter chief. He also served on the staff at Timbcrline and High Uintah camps. He has been active in troop activities. They were married in Littleton, Colo, in 1951. They lived in Englewoood, Colo, until 1975 , when they moved to Lapoint Jim worked for 30 years as a custodian cus-todian and Rosetta worked as a homemaker. The McMickells have five children. They are Ben (Klyn) of Roosevelt, Beverly (David) of Tribune, Kan., Jim (Sherri) of Lapoint Frank of Lapoint and Stanley of Vernal. They also hjve 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren grand-children and more on the uay. Dr. Powell is new to the area and would like to provide information for seniors concerning glaucoma and cataracts. People 55 years of age and older are welcome to attend a 16 week class which has been developed to assist them in a healthier lifestyle. Those who "Hurricane" Wilson to appear Roger "Hurricane" Wilson will perform in Vernal one night only, Oct. 23, starting at 8:30 p.m. in Cassidy's Club, a private club for members. Wilson has been playing professional profes-sional guitar since 1972 after years of teaching others how to play. He has jammed with Roy Buchanan, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert Collins, Lucky Peterson, Charlie Musselwhite and Carl Weathersby. Wilson has been on stage with such well known names as B.B. King, Taj Majal, Edgar Winter and many others. From festival to juke joints, Wilson plays over 250 nights a participate will take home a bag of fruits and vegetables each week. Classes will focus oh healthy eating, eat-ing, physical activity, behavior change and weight management to prevent or control diabetes.
