It is their mission to supplement supple-ment and enhance the education of students. "There are six committees that make up the foundation and see to it that the work is done," said Wilkins, president of the executive committee of the Uintah School Foundation. "Each of these committees commit-tees work together toward a main objective and that is to enhance education for all students. Wilkins explains the duties of the committees: Executive Committee This committee develops agendas, makes decisions, long-range plans, nominates new trustee's, reviews funding proposals, etc. Its main responsibility is to keep the foundation founda-tion running smoothly and help other committees accomplish their purpose. "Even though the foundation is not part of the school district, we do try to coordinate coordi-nate any proposals turned in by teachers of any of the schools. We fund projects from preschool through high school." "Members of the foundation are anyone who contributes money, in-kind in-kind or endowments," explained Wilkins. "The goal of the foundation founda-tion is to benefit as many students as possible. Last year we designated designat-ed $10,000 as matching funds so that the schools would match those funds for amplification systems in some of the elementary schools. The teachers wear the amplification systems. They are able to talk in a normal tone of voice and the students stu-dents can hear them. This helps to keep the attention of the students and to keep them from becoming as fidgety and they don't play around as much." From all the reports that the foundation has received the amplification systems have really been a benefit not only to the students, stu-dents, but to the teachers as well. "We entertain any proposals sent to us from teachers. The teachers fill out a form and turn it into their principal who has to sign it," stated Wilkins. "The board takes into consideration con-sideration the impact the proposal will have on the students and how many it would involve." The in-kind donations are items donated that can be used by the schools such as computers or endowments geared to a specific purpose arc also accepted.
