The events began in true Olympic style with the parade of teams and torch run. Carrying the torch were Christy Crowther, Uintah Basin Dinos; Tim Gallagher, Uintah High School; Johnny Pratt, Union High School; Ricci McCarrell, Vernal Jr. High; Edward Johnson, Vernal Middle School; Stacey Hamblin, Con Amore and Tyler Lance, Beavers. , Ellen Kiever was introduced as the Volunteer of the Year and IGA Super Center was the Northeast Area Special Olympic sponsor. The Uintah High Cheerleaders presented present-ed the Flag Ceremony. When the Olympics were over, participants competed in 38 races, each awarding ribbons in first through fourth places. Instead, they'll receive them in the mail. Hunters are encouraged to use the application they receive in the mail, as it will be personalized. The personalized per-sonalized application is bar coded and includes the hunter's bonus point information. Personalized applications and Big Game Proclamations were mailed May 3, so hunters should start receiving re-ceiving them this week, said Judi Tutorow, wildlife licensing coordinator coordi-nator for the Division of Wildlife Resources. Tutorow offered hunters suggestions sugges-tions on how to successfully complete com-plete and mail their application. . "The personalized applications are specific to that hunter and only that hunter can use them," Tutorow said. Hunters who wish to apply for more than one drawing can make photocopies of their own application applica-tion and use these photocopies to apply for the various drawings.
