None of us felt very good about the game and we used it to kind of help clear the air heading into the playoffs. I think when we look back on the season, this could be a positive and learning experience experi-ence for us." ' In the Timpview game, the Lady Thunderbirds scored all three of their runs in the first inning. Uintah spent the rest of the contest catching up by scoring one in the first and two in the fourth. The teams entered the seventh inning tied 3-3. In the top of the inning, the first two Lady Ute batters struck out. Cheridan Horrocks then reached first on a bunt which was mishandled by the Timpview third baseman. Horrocks stole second and third, finally scoring scor-ing on a passed ball as Annika Johnson worked the count to a full house. Timpview loaded the bases with two out in the bottom half of the inning, but couldn't score as Janell worked a comeback grounder out of the batter for the final out. The Park City games were marked by Jensen's first no-hitter in the 13-0 13-0 first game in Park City Tuesday. Jensen faced just two more batters than the minimum in the 10 run rule shortened contest. Wednesday's game in Vernal was more of the same as Jensen pitched a one-hitter during the team's 12-0 victory which also ended after five innings due to the 10 run rule. Bonnie Hatch and Mandc Dugan each went three for three at the plate. Liz Cranncy and Hatch each scored three times. The team's next competition will come at the state tournament next Thursday in Cedar City if Prcstwich doesn't pick up a practice game beforehand. be-forehand. Their first round opponent in the double elimination affair will not be determined until next week when the playins are completed. The opponent will be the winner between be-tween region 10 and 1 1's third place Education classes gave a high energy ener-gy demonstration of aerobics under the direction of Amy Bigelow. A new addition to the event was the addition of female athletes to this section of the show. After the aerobics aero-bics demonstration, Collett was named as the wild card winner and the final competition began. Contestants were asked to perform per-form all the usual poses, and were then moved on the stage to pose next to each other and give the judges a better view of who had the best physique. "It is a grueling competition," Coach Belcher said, "people don't realize how much energy en-ergy and effort it takes to flex your muscles as h,ard as possible for that length of time. Those finalists were all completely worn out by the end of the competition." "I was sore for three or four days after the contest last year," former contestant Isaac Smuin added. As the very vocal crowd cheering for their favorite (with Snyder's urging), the contestants raised the level of intensity by striking poses directly in front of each other. As the crowd became more vocal, participants par-ticipants became more competitive, striking unusual poses or pumping , themselves up even more by doing one handed push ups and other activities ac-tivities that might give them any kind of advantage in the judges eyes. Finally, after 10-15 minutes of non-stop competition, the winner was announced and junior Dace Mowry was crowned Mr. Uintah 1996. c A- Iff ' ft Express photo by JoAnn Cowan Catcher Bonnie Hatch talks over strategy with teammates. ft Express photo by JoAnn Cowan Unidentified Lady Ute goes head first into second for the steal. squads.
