George and 4 vf Mr. and Mrs. Gross will celebrate 50th anniversary George S. and Joan Gross will celebrate cel-ebrate their Fiftieth wedding anniversary an-niversary with friends and relatives on Aug. 26. There will be an open house at the Larry Gross home in Jensen, 5785 S. 9500 E., from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. George and Joan were married Aug. 22, 1945 at the home of the bride's parents, Nile and Ella Ainge. Golden Age Young and old scoot-a-boot Friday nights by Ada Murray Last Monday Aug. 14, Kenny and Kaycee Caldwell entertained during lunch. They each sang a solo and then they sang a duet. It was enjoyable enjoy-able to have Kenny and Kaycee share their talent. Visiting and eating lunch at the center were some folks from the Bee Hive Home. Many things will be taking place in the next few weeks. This Thursday we will be going on a picnic to Indian Canyon. On Friday, Sept. 8, we will giving away a quilt during the dance. Elections of directors and officers for the Uintah Club will be on Wednesday, Sept. 13, following lunch hour. Club Charities auction on September 16 Dinah Sams 11 had their August meeting Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the Colton Pavilion, followed by a melon mel-on feast of all kinds, hosted by Bob and Betty Zeller. John Carter, Eastern Utah State Sams director, swore in the elected Officers of Dinah Sams. The club is a recreational vehicle group with open membership to all members of International Good Sams. Members have renewed their highway cleanup project for another two years. Six RV rigs have committed to attend at-tend the Peach Day Tag-a-long in Brigham City, Sept. 7-10. Eight rigs just returned from Jackson Hole camp-out hosted by Allan Gentry and Tex Sweatfield. Birthday honors were given to Dcllis Morrill, Lois Fread, Alice White, and Trevelene Hall. The auction for club charities will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 at the home of Pete and Jessie Pederson. Catherine Stringham Hatch Vi- r v Joan Gross George was in the U.S. Navy at the time and had come home on leave. George and Joan are the parents of three children, Scotty Gross and Sybil Phillips of Vemal, and Larry Gross of Jensen. They have ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mews Winners at Bingo for the month of July were Doris Bodily for Tussday and Loma Holmes for Friday. Winner at Bingo Friday Aug. 11, was Susan. On Tuesday, Aug. 15, Jean Staten and Ada Murray tied for first place with four games each. Edda Bingham, Marie Smuin, Loma Holmes and Don won three games each. We have good time-at the dances on Friday night when all age groups come for an evening of good, clean fun. We certainly don't want anyone to think our dances are just for Golden Age patrons. Don Schurz played the guitar and sang with the orchestra Friday night, because of the absence of Lyle Harlow. It was the forty-seventh wedding anniversary of Vonda Lee and Clayton Curtis, and to celebrate, cele-brate, they served root beer floats to the dancers. She weighed 8 lbs. 4oz. and is named Hailey Alexis Hardman. A daughter was bom to Doug and Lynette Allred on Aug. 9. She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and is named Jordyn Amber Allred. Clay Eugene Burch was bom on Aug. 10, weighing 6 lbs. 12 oz. to proud parents Robert and Sandra Burch. A daughter was bom to Michael and Victoria Jardon on Aug. 11. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. A boy was bom to Douglas and Barbara Gourdin on Aug. 15. He weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and is named Jesse William Gourdin. 'r ' I 1 0 Harold and --4 " Mr. and Mrs. Merrell enjoy 70th wedding anniversary Harold and Marie Merrell were honored by their family at a special family gathering to celebrate the couple's 70 years of marriage. Harold and Marie were married Aug. 19, 1925 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have five children, Boyd, Marvin, Dallas, Calvin and Sandra. Calvin is deceased. The Mcrrells have 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. The Merrells said they are pleased that nine of their descendants have Grace and - 'V f ' , , ' , '''' "U ' r " - lit, '( Mr. and Mrs. Moore celebrate golden aniversary Grace Rasmussen and Charley Rco Moore of Lapoint completed 50 years of marriage on Aug. 21. They celebrated this past summer during July when family members were visiting here. Those who traveled trav-eled to spend time with them were Graces' sister, Marian Murdock and family of Yorba Linda, Calif., and brother, Max Rasmussen of Las Vegas, Nev. Charley's sister, Virginia Allen and her family from Ml Burg, Ark., were in attendance. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were also present. pre-sent. Harold was bom in Jensen in 1903 and Marie was born in Vernal in 1905. Harold worked at the Gilsonite mines in the Dragon area the first few years of their married life. Eventually they moved to Naples where they currently reside. They are both in their 90s and an living at home where Harold is raising rais-ing a vegetable garden. Charley Moore ceased, Pamclia M. Searlc of Vemal, Dixie Hartle of Lapoint, and Rickey Charles Moore of Lapoint They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Charley was bom in Mt. Burg, Ark., to Willie Wayman and Patsy Rea Jackson Moore. He has worked in the mines, hauled timber ar.j farmed throughout his married life. He enjoys lapidary work. Grace was bom to Fred C. and Lilly White Rasmussen in Oakley. She graduated from Park City High School and has been a homemakcr throughout the years. During their married life they have been active in the LDS Church and held nrmerous callings. The couple were . married in Meeker, Colo., on Aug. 29, 1945. They made their home in Meeker for a short time before moving to Vemal, where they have lived the remainder of their years.
