Show Final monument lectures Dinosaur National Monument Superintendent, Denny Huffman, announced that the last of the 75 ih Anniversary lectures will be presented pre-sented Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ashley National Forest conference room in Vernal. The special guest for the night will be Dr. Wallace Hansen of the U.S. Geological Survey in Denver who is the recognized expert on the geology of the Uinta Mountains. Dr. Hansen did the first comprehensive compre-hensive geological survey and mapping map-ping work of the monument He will present slides of the geology of the monument and explain the monument's mon-ument's geological significance. Many people are not aware that Dinosaur National Monument has the most complete geological record of any National Park area in the country, stated Huffman. Dinosaur's Paleontologist, Dan Chure, will present slides of the recent re-cent paleontological discoveries found at the monument at 8:00 p.m. following Dr. Hansen's presentation. presenta-tion. The recent paleontological work has confirmed that the monument not only protects world significant dinosaur excavations, but also mammal excavations. Mr. Chure w ill share these recent discoveries.
