"t vt nt Elder Jimmy Merkley Elder Merkley to report Japan mission Elder Jimmy Merkley, son of Rell and Kathy Merkley, returned home August 31 from serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tokyo-Japan North Mission. Elder Mcrkley's homecoming report re-port will be Sunday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Maeser 4th Ward Chapel (Maeser Stake Center), located at 2745 West 1000 North. Allen earns Arrow of Light Award Danny Allen, son of Davis R. and Ann Allen, received his Arrow of Light Award on Wednesday, August 22. The Arrow of Light is the highest high-est award possibly earned in the Cub Scouts. The award was presented to Danny by the assistant Cubmaster, who is his father. Danny then graduated gradu-ated into Boy Scouts and was received re-ceived into the Blazer Troop Dallas Taylor, troop leader. Earlier in the year, Danny received re-ceived his Faith in God Award. He has worked hard in Cub Scouts and is excited to begin Scouting. Elder Spencer Robbins Elder Robbins returns from mission Elder Spencer Robbins, formerly of Vernal, son of John and Brenda Robbins of Spanish Fork, has returned re-turned after serving a 2-year mission mis-sion for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Baltimore, Md. Elder Robbins will give his mission mis-sion report at the American Fork 26th Ward Chapel Saturday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m. noon. Spencer is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Robbins of Vernal. Out of town relatives coming for funeral services for Lela Caldwell were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Caldwell of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Authorene Jack of Uuca, Michigan, Craig Caldwell and Dorothy Luck of Vernal, Mr. and Mrs. Lance Luck and family of Neola, Mr. and Mrs. Shane Luck and family of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Danny Caldwell of Worland, Wyo. Funeral services for Lela Corinthia Gales Caldwell were held August 25 in the Lapoint LDS Chapel. The family prayer was given giv-en by Craig Caldwell. Services were conducted by Bishop Martin Huber and a musical selection entided, "Home, Sweet Home" was performed per-formed by Odean Cox, Delia Nyberg, Mae Warburton, Paula huber, hu-ber, June Wooley, Arda Mansfield and Carolyn Lee, with an accompaniment accompa-niment by Donna Hartle. Howard Collett spoke and then Dawn DeJournette sang "Wonderful Mother" and was accompanied by Amy Allen. The final speaker was Dr. Terry M. Buxton, with Dorothy Luck singing "Going Home," accompanied ac-companied by Amy Allen. The benediction was given by Tiny Clark. Lance Luck dedicated the grave at the Lapoint Cemetery and pallbearers pallbear-ers were Aaron, Andrew, Austin and Maclain Luck, Max and Lawrence Luck, with honorary pallbearers being be-ing Leland, Danny, Jimmy and Craig Caldwell, Shane and Lance Luck and Tiny Clark.
