Show Young's Pairsi crew places second -atUBIC Wednedoy, August 13, 1986 Veffial hpfBSt 27 Lightning Oil of Roosevelt struck down Young's Paint of Vernal, 17-13, for first place in the UBIC Men's A League Round Robin, Saturday in Roosevelt. Lightning Oil posted a perfect mark of 6-0 and Young's one loss to Lightning Oil forced them to Round Robin Tourney I - - j - - 1 -rt r t 3 settle for second place at 5-1. Frand-sen's, Frand-sen's, Big A and Morcon of Vernal tied for third at 3-3, but Frandsen's placed third because they scored more runs in the tournament. Sprouse Insurance posted a 1-5 mark and Lapoint Coffee Shop Gang finish- ed at 0-6. Young's Paint placed first in the Vernal Tournament. Young's winning hopes were burned burn-ed on an 8-0 blast by Lightning Oil in the top of the first inning. Steve Ap-pel, Ap-pel, Chris Heaton, Brent Fenn, Ken Fenn, Joe Duncan, Onnie Cuch, Richie Hadlock and Duane Nielsen scored runs for Lightning Oil in the first inning. One run was scored by Young's Danny Long in the bottom of the first inning, but four runs in the top of the second gave Lightning Oil a 12-1 lead. Heaton, Robert Uresk, B. Fenn and Todd Arnold scored runs. Eight runs in the bottom of the second se-cond inning put Young's Paint back into the ball game at 12 to 9. Ron Baker, Randy Turpin, Dave Em-mett, Em-mett, Frank Young, Rick Gardner, Monty Lee and Todd Parker scored runs. Parker and Rick Morton. Ron Gardner, Baker, Emmett and Young scored four runs in the top of the second to give Young's Paint a 7-2 lead. Lee slugged a home run in the third for an 8-3 advantage. Three runs by Rick Gardner, Long and Young presented an 11-5 lead to Young's Paint in the top of the fifth. Two more counters in the top of the seventh increased Young's lead to 7 runs at 13-6. Baker and Emmett scored for Young's Paint. Frandsen's scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but lost 13-10. Young's Paint defeated Sprouse Insurance, In-surance, 10-2.
