Howells of Vernal announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laura, to Edwin Karl Schirner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schirner of Vernal. The couple is planning their wedding in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Aug. 29. They will be honored at a reception at the home of the bride's parents, 723 North Vernal Ave., that same evening. Laura is a 1984 graduate of Uintah High School where she was active in sports, acapella and drama. For the past two years she has been attending Golden Age Activities By Maxine Clark It has been a very active week as usual. We had a good crowd out to lunch on Monday. Edith Gale took charge for Lyla Bennion who is ill. Ralph Sid-doway Sid-doway told of the benefits of the Uin-tahs Uin-tahs Club. Vernal McKees daughter-in-law, Maxine McKee was a guest. Also visiting were Connie Molt, Amy Pope, Donna Richcns, Barsie Hatch and Alarik Myrin. They gave some short talks of the coming election. Also some ladies from Dinosaur, Colo, were visiting. The winner at bingo last week was Ada Murray with five games. In second se-cond place were Vcnna Richcns and Ika Nielsen w ith three games each. We send our love and best wishes to I.yla Bennion who is ill. We also wish all who are 111, a pwdy recovery. There was a nice group out to the exercise ex-ercise class en Thursday. She has been continuing her education this summer through the USU Extension Service. Ed is a 1983 graduate of Uintah High School where he lettered in football. He completed an LDS mission to Auckland, New Zealand and has been attending Utah Technical College at Salt Lake City studying air conditioning condition-ing and refrigeration. The couple plan to move to Salt Lake where Ed will continue his education. Thursday. We always have a good group. Commodities will be given out to all who are eligible, on Thursday Aug. 21 from 9 to 4 p.m. Remember, the picnic will be on Thursday Aug. 14 to Green's Lake and the Red Canyon overlook. We will leave the center at 10 a.m. It will be potluck and bring your own dishes. We send our sympathy to the family fami-ly of Maxie Hatch in the loss of your loved one. A sympathy card was sipned for the family of Maxie Hatch. Dick I'fford is In Goodland, Kansas for a reunion, but will be home to take charge of the dance on Friday night.
