A critical fly ball error resulted in three runs for Laverne & Shirley's and a doubledecker belted in another for 10-5 breathing room in the top of the fourth inning. Chivers singled and R. Hacking got on base on an error. Marsha Smuin belted a double and drove in Chivers with a 7-5 lead. Robyn Horrocks flied out and Revert was walked to fill up the bases. A Hamlin outfielder had a fly ball hit by Murray, but it dropped out of her mitt and Murray gained a triple. Hacking, Smuin and Revert " scored to give Laverne & Shirley's a 10-5 advantage. Western Auto knocked off Smith Well Service. 7-11 toppled Lady Utes and Hamlin shot down Silver Bullet. Laverne & Shirley's defeated Ft. Myton and Striders beat Western Auto in the second se-cond round. 7-11 Cafe beat Hamlin and Laverne & Shirley's downed Striders in the third round. Laverne & Shirley's advanced into the championship game when they defeated 7-11 Cafe. Hamlin beat Ft. Duchesne Reds and Striders beat Silver Bullets in consolation games. Hamlin advanced into the title game when they beat 7-11. , Heyloft pocketed third place in the UBIC Women's A League Round Robin Tournament. The Vernal bunch won their final game, 22-5. They scored 13 runs in the first, five in the fourth and four in the fifth. R 4 R Sunshine of Roosevelt captured cap-tured first place in the tournament at 5-0 and the Wild and Crazy Bunch, also from Roosevelt, nabbed second at 4-1. |
