The loss drops Uintah's record to 5-5. ' Mountain View jumped out to an 18-11 lead in the first quarter. Kenny Mohar led the Uintah Utes with five points on two field goals and one free throw. Brett Weldon, Eric Morrow and Jamie Childs added two points each. Cooper led Mountain View in the first quarter with eight points and Payne and Roberts added four points. Pollard scored two points. A field goal by Morrow sliced Mountain View lead to 20-17 midway in the second quarter. Roberts of Mountain View popped in a shot, but Colt Mortenson scored to place the Utes three points away from the lead. Morrow flipped in a field goal and a free throw to tie up the game with 3:18 to go. Mohar fired in one out of two free throws to give the Uintah Ute sophomores a 23-22 lead with 2 : 20 11 r 1 to go in the second quarter. Mountain View came right back to retake the lead at 24-23 on a field goal by Child. Payne and Gentry added field goals to give the Bruins a 28-23 lead. Brett Weldon hit a shot just before the second quarter buzzer to make the score 28 to 25 in favor of Mountain View. The Bruins scored two field goals to take a seven point lead of 32-25 over the Uintah Utes. Weldon scored Uintah's first points with 6:45 left in the third quarter and another field goal brought the Utes within five points of the Bruin lead. A two-pointer two-pointer by Devin Southam sliced the Mountain View lead to three points at 34-31 and a field goal by Payne gave the Bruins a 36-31 lead. A free throw by Weldon and two-pointer by Morrow Mor-row reduced Mountain View's lead to 38-34. A field goal by Morrow and free throw by Mohar made the score at the end of the third quarter, Mountain Moun-tain View, 40 and Uintah, 37. Morrow connected on the first points of the game for the Uintah Utes with 4:12 left and the Utes were held scoreless the rest of the way. The final score was: Mountain Moun-tain View, 57 and Uintah, 39. Morrow was the top Uintah point gainer at 13 points. He fired in six field goals and hit 1 out of 2 free throws. Mohar and Weldon added seven points. Lee Schulz scored six points. Childs, Southam and Morten-son Morten-son scored two points. Cooper led Mountain View with 20 points. He fired in eight field goals and hit 4 out of 4 free throws. Roberts scored 16 points and Payne tossed in 11 counters. Roberts hit seven field goals and was 2 for 2 from the foul line. Payne fired in four field goals and hit 3 out of 3 free throws. Gentry added six points and Child flipped in two counters. Uintah's junior varsity team lost to Mountain View bv the score of 66-49. The Bruins had a 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Joe LeBeau and Valton Mortenson led the Utes with nine points. Jef: Palmer and Laing added eight points. Kyle White scored three points.
