' ' Uirrtah JV iecam detfecotfs Tigers 1S3 Uintah High School's junior varsity wrestling team improved its record to 4 wins and 0 losses due to a 47 to 16 triumph over the Orem Tigers, Thursday Thurs-day in Vernal. The Ute JV tusslers jumped out to a 32 to 0 lead on six wins in the first six matches. Darren Johnson, 98, started the Utes on their winning ways when he downed Bahen of Orem, 9 to 3. Johnson grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first round on a takedown and added two takedowns and a two-point near fall in the second round for an 8-2 lead. Johnson snared a penalty point in the third round for a 9-3 win. Two forfeits and a pin gave the Uintah Uin-tah Utes to a 21 to 0 lead over the Orem Tigers. Richard Horrocks, 105 and Mike Caldwell, 112, won their matches due to forfeits. David Gurr of Uintah pinned Brock Finch of Orem at the 1:02 mark of the 119 pound match. Mat triumphs by Leslie Gorman at 132 pounds and Greg Jaramillo at 138 pounds gave the Uintah junior varsity varsi-ty team a 32 to 0 lead. Gorman grabbed grabb-ed a 5-0 lead in his match with Jeff Parrish of Orem on a takedown and three-point near fall. Gorman placed Parrish's shoulder blades in dangerous territory in the second round for three-point and two-point near falls to net a 10-0 lead. Gorman won the match, 12-0, and scored a reversal in the final round. Jaramillo snared a 5-0 lead in the first round in his match with Dave Horlocker on a takedown and three-point three-point near fall. Uintah's Jaramillo put Horlocker out of his misery when he pinned his Orem matman with ten seconds left in the first round. Orem pocketed its first win in the junior varsity meet when Jeff Teichert thumped Uintah's 138 pounder, Troy Murray, 15 to 4. Teichert netted a 6-1 lead in the first round on two takedowns and a two-point near fall. Murray scored a neutral in the first round. Uintah's Murray netted a neutral in the second round, but Teichert dropped Murray for a takedown and an 8-2 lead. Murray scored two points in the third round on two neutrals, but Teichert added two takedowns, escape and two-point near fall in the third round for a 15-4 win. The JV Tigers cut Uintah's lead to 22 points at 32-10 on a pin by Bart Richman of Orem in the 145 pound match. Richman dropped Mitch Hall for a takedown and pinned Hall with 41 seconds to go in the first round. - Uintah's Rick Porter put the Utes on a new winning streak when he downed down-ed 155 pounder Chad Childs of Orem. Childs owned a 2-0 lead in the first round on a takedown, but Porter caught fire in the second round as he scored two three-point near falls and a reversal for an 8-2 lead in the second round. Childs scored four points on a reversal and two-point near fall in the third round, but Porter added a reversal rever-sal for a 10-6 win. The Uintah Ute JV team snared a lead of 41 to 10 when 167 pounder Clark Barker pinned Mark Brotherson, Orem, at the 1:04 mark of the second round. Barker scored a takedown in the first round for a 2-0 lead and added a reversal and three-point near fall in the second round. Uintah's Shayne Price won the 185 pound match on a forfeit and Jason Bird, heavyweight, Orem, won his contest on a forfeit, which made the final score: Uintah, 47 and Orem, 16.
