Show Lake claims 4 in plane OGDEN Drowning claimed the lives of four California Califor-nia men who crash-landed their ice-ladened airplane into the Great Salt Lake, Ken Adams, chief deputy of the Box Elder County sheriffs office, said Friday. Cause of death was determined by the Utah State Medical Examiner, who issued a preliminary autopsy report, Adams said. The victims of Wednesday's crash included: Vern Huss, 67, of Fair Oaks; VenTs son, Randy Huss, 34, of Chico; Vein's brother, Mack Huss, 58, of Fair Oaks; and Mack's son, Brad Huss, 32, of Durham. The four men died en route to California after attending the funeral of a local relative. The pilot, Vem Huss, radioed Salt Lake International Airport and told the controller he was in trouble because ice was forming on the plane's wings. He said he planned to return to Ogden Airport. At 12:46 p.m., about 30 minutes after departing the airport, air-port, the plane disappeared from Salt Lake radar screens. Rescue teams from the Box Elder County sheriff's office recovered the bodies at 3 p.m. |
