Show Listener wins trip to Super Bowl SYRACUSE Being the lucky tenth caller on a KKAT radio station contest led to an experience of a lifetime for Don C. Child III. He returned last Monday Mon-day evening from a three-day trip to the Super Bowl in Florida. The radio initially gave away party packs to listeners on an hourly basis for about a week before the grand prize winner was selected. To win a party pack, a person had to be the tenth caller. This recognition recogni-tion qualified a person to enter the major Super Bowl drawing that was held at the end of the contest About 100 people were eligible for the drawing. Child's grand prize included air fare to Florida, a rent-a- car, lodging in a motel and tickets to the Super Bowl for two people. Don chose to take his stepfather, step-father, Matt Curry, with him to Florida. The Super Bowl tickets alone were valued at $150 each. Child said scalpers were willing to pay much more than the face value of the tickets. At the end of the game, some people were even willing to pay from $50 to $75 for the Super Bowl ticket stubs that are an elaborate three-dimensional design. |
