Show Former Rainbo Oil employee arrested angry over a bonus check he said was promised but never received. Schatz quit his job at Rainbo in December and robbed the store out of a personal vendetta he had against the company. Officers soon discovered the link between the motive and robbery and questioned Schatz's friends on his whereabouts. They also put his home under surveillance. Kilpack said the pressure Schatz felt was probably a contributing factor in his decision to turn himself in. Schatz is charged with one felony count of armed robbery and is being held at the Davis County JaiL The search for Gallegos is still in progress. By MARK EDDINGTON Staff Writer BOUNTIFUL A 21-year-old Riverdale man who recently quit his job at a Bountiful Rainbo Oil convenience con-venience store was arrested Friday for his involvement in the armed robbery of his former place of employment. Another suspect is still at large. Marty Schatz turned himself in to Weber County authorities Friday morning and confessed to the armed robbery of Rainbo last Thursday and a second robbery committed several days prior at a Motel 8, located on Wilson Lane in Ogden. Bountiful Police Detective Lloyd Kilpack said Schatz implicated Duane P. Gallegos, 21, Washington Terrace, as his accomplice in the crimes. Police suspect the pair is responsible respon-sible for a string of burglaries and armed robberies in Weber County. Bountiful and Weber County Sheriffs detectives are still searching sear-ching for Gallegos, who is currently AWOL from the U.S. Marine Corps. Police have not recovered the weapon used in the robberies and are considering Gallegos armed and dangerous. Rainbo was robbed early Thursday Thurs-day morning. Police allege Gallegos threatened the cashier with a handgun, taking the employee to the rear of store and handcuffing him while Schatz grabbed money from the register.
